Not really when you are thinking of word choice into German. Usually this comes really easy to me. I'll just walk to work and translate shit with no problem, but this is a bit odd in some parts.
Yes. Please. The last time I translated conversational Canadian French (off CBC no less) into English, it shrank to a quarter of the size. Conversational Canadian French seems to be about repeating the same points slightly differently for clarity or something. Compared to compact, simple "business English", it feels insane. I wonder if Deutschlanders could make it even more compact.
That part's a bit weird in English too. I'm not sure which word would be a better choice that would keep the meaning. Options and panopticon don't really rhyme and the syllable structure of panopticon is weird for it's placement. It's a pretty specific concept too, a circular prison where you're under constant observation. What's the German equivalent of that word?
That's it, I am not particularly sure. I had to even look it up in English because I hadn't heard of it before. Maybe some Deutschsprachige spergs know, but it is almost how almost every word for public transport is in German because I had no vocabulary for it until I moved to Germany coming from the middle of nowhere US.
The only thing I can think of that might sort of keep the meaning is using zoo or a synonym for it and translating from that. It's not quite the same but a zoo is probably the next closest thing to being in a panopticon.

It's just I am sure some people read this and are like just throw it into Google Translate, you dumb cunt. Problem is that translation is an art, not a science and even I'll go back and revise things when I think better of it.
I know it's not as simple as just throwing it into google translate I've done some French to English translation before. That's why it would have been nice to see the original French maybe there was a better way to translate it into English to begin with.
Wish I had it, tbh. I don't know French that well, but I think this honestly was originally written in French and then then put it into English because some of it is just so awkward to have been written by a native speaker. They probably needed a proofreader, lol. I really like this band and why I am wanting to translate, just they make it such a pain in the ass, lol. I've done this for Black Magick SS, but they were Kangaroos and clearly native speakers. I didn't have to think much at all on it.
I think music is one of those things that's harder to translate in general to different languages because you're most likely never going to be able to keep it direct as possible while keeping the flow and rhythm correct. The only song I personally know with an English and a German version is 99 luftballon. I don't know German but just listening to it you can tell the translation isn't direct. Maybe something like more of a localized translation that isn't direct but keeps the intention and spirit of the song would work better? I know German's a fairly versatile language and it's fairly easy to make up understandable words like in English. Is there some German you could string together that functions as a word with similar enough meaning but isn't technically a word? English does that shit all the time and I know I've heard you can do the same thing in German.
