been looking at transformers from way back when again because some of them, specifically the smaller ones are still cheap and not in t he 50-200 dollar scalper hoard yet, forgot just how many repaints some of these had. They're certainly more expensive than the like 5 or so dollars they used to be or whatever, but like 6-20 (sometimes 30 something but that's fucking pushing it) dollars depending on who's selling them isn't that bad. Still not a top priority though I'm debating trying to find really beat up cheap ones tot ry and use the paint I haven't been able to use the last like 5 years if it's still good due to weather and life shit getting in the way of projects.

The desert camo one's apparently a different guy though he's just a recolor. used to be a lot more common before the figures became just endless remakes.
Saw it apparently sold out instantly unless it's in stock again in which case god damn it took them how many years of pussyfooting around just making more of the thing? Anyways yeah hoping to get him eventually but 30 dollars is a high ceiling for me right now.
The g1 figure of this guy's one of the few g1 figures I own actually not counting the garage sale/flea market ones from way way back in the day and some of the reissues from a few years ago that were overpriced till they hit clearance. I think i got it at a flea market either a little before or after this thread was made and didn't bring it up for no real reason. Guess I forgot. I think it's actually still in the plastic bag I got it in lmao.

What the fuck would they even do aside from making a version that's 35 dollars that removes the greebling at this point going by how these damn things have been going?
Seriously I'm basically priced out of anything other than occasional secondhand with occasional pay in 4 nonsense on said secondhand shit to juggle what little leeway I got at this point lmao. Some small exceptions but like I'm not going to get it if there's a new one is what I'm saying. gaps of 5-8 years between restocks or releases is ludicrous. Might get this reissue of runabout seeing some places do have it in stock for preorder still but there's a threshold of comfort being crossed is what I'm getting at here.
EDIT: that target 86 Starscream's now available places other than target on preorder but they've bumped up the price to nearly 70 fucking dollars for a voyager yeah no thanks.
EDITX2: and those places' preorders are all sold out too it seems. cool! not runabout though he's still there.
UPDATE: The guy that I ordered the sharks from despite being a reputable seller I saw recommended a few times looking him up still never shipped the sharkticons and insteaddeleted his account. Now it's nothing but 100+ dollar scalper listings for a 30 dollar knockoff. I will not be paying for those as the import shipping price and taxes to begin with made the 30 dollar one a stretch. At the very least I just got refunded after checking things again.
These kinds of shady fucking practices becoming common for online sellers is fucking annoying man. Like people really are out here noticing after they sell something "oh wait people are buying this to resell it at 200+ so I'll just lie and say there's no stock in the personal messages section while upping the price to match scalpers or just silently delete my ENTIRE FUCKING ACCOUNT AND NEVER SHIP THE THING".
I think it says something when the only honest seller I've encountered that hasn't pulled this shit the last few months while using the personal message system on these online marketplaces is the guy that sold the LG overlord that's missing the smirking head. I mean it's basically been just that one and and me trying to get fucking anyone to actually ship the sharks due to my money situation but like fuck me man I should not have to go through the ringer 3 fucking times over trying to order 3 to 6 slightly larger than normal SS86 gnaws. I give up. Once the refund's finalized this time I'll probably just use it for more supplies for projects I've been trying to get made the last several fucking years or some used figures.
I really should try and find the storage box of my old transformers from way back in the day sometime.
As I typed this out I decided to check a random storage box in the basement and found a good chunk of them. It's weird though because armada prime is in there and last time me and a family member went through old storage boxes the one we opened had only armada prime in it by himself in vehicle mode and nothing else in it. Meaning things had to have either been moved at some point without me knowing or I have two armada primes. I don't think it's the latter and I'm still in need of finding my other ones. I know a few I have and they aren't in there. I should probably pull them out sometime so nothing starts growing on them eventually lmao. I know I've got both the monkey optimus primal and I think one of the more weirder ones that was an exclusive but he's not in the storage box in the basement meaning he's somewhere else. Also know I have a TM megatron and he's not in there either so he HAS to be in another box somewhere.
When I get a proper photo taking spot set up I should take some pics of the old things as I find them.
EDIT: meant transmetal, not transmetal 2. Copper and purple one, not the dragon. I think I DO have the later scout class beast machines version of the transmetal 2 one though.
