The literal grim reaper as a transformer that's also a monster truck is the kind of design energy this fucking series needs to regain.

megatron getting a third dragon mode is suprising, where does that come from?
It's from the concept art for the movie. He was apparently planned to have a third dragon mode but it got cut.

The alicon being just a reissue with slightly deeper green that doesn't paint the area between the toes gray like the character model it's based on is really really lame for a 30-ish dollar pricetag

OG releases colors were more accurate too, only glaring issues being the lack of paint and the gray being slightly too dark.

I'm fine with the slightly darker gray though since it breaks up the color really nicely.
EDIT: wait no it's the right kind of gray I'm not taking a photo of mine right now so here's a random one off image search

only real oddity is they reinterpreted the froglike mouth as a faceplate, something the reissue doesn't seem to fix. It's kind of like the opposite form of the kind of thing that happens with some respirator mouth characters like liege maximo and armada thrust where the sculptor of the figure interprets that as their chin.

Did he even transform in the movie?
yes and there were a shitload of the niggas in the scene they showed up in

EDIT: The version fo the clip I sent cuts off before they transform and I'm having issue finding the full clip right now but this image I sent earlier is from the part where they do.

btw if you've ever heard anyone say this universal greeting shit the quote is specifically from this movie. This is the origin point of it and it's one of the most mildly strange things I've seen pop up on occasion in media.

I oughta rewatch the movie one of these days. Ain't spending a twenty or so to watch in theaters since you know niggas gonna smell worse than chicken coop.
What's weird is they're kinda the same race as the egg alien dudes with he faces that rotate depending on how they feel about shit but also kinda framed as a different thing than them because there's alicons and then there's the SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT looking "bailiffs" which are quintessons (the egg fucks). and aren't implied to be able to transform at all like the alicons can

This however did not stop them from retooling the alicon into the bailiff. AZs I said earlier I think the reason the alicon figure's transformation is so inaccurate is because they had the bailiff retool in mind while making it. So the bailiff now has an alicon alt mode.

EDIT: IMPORTANT VIDEO

@The Lawgiver Are they the same species as the Quintessons? I think the alicons are just another species created by the Quintessons.
Yes my point though is like the quintesson bailiffs are supposed to be quintessons and not the same thing as alicons but they basically share the exact same bodytype to the point the official bailiff figure is literally a retooled alicon and can transform as a result, something they're never shown or implied to be able to do.

BW2 Galvatron transformation got posted by a Takara affiliate. Looks pretty easy and fun.

If transformers were still remotely affordable enough/actually aimed at kids still for these chug style figures this would be fucking incredible but even then it's nice this decent remake isn't locked behind a fucking haslab (though it is some form of weird exclusive which sucks). Going by the price it's commander class so that's I guess the other non-haslab commander class figure that's a humanoid and actually BIG aside from jetfire.
Somehow never left commentary on that. Bluh. Anyways it's WAY above my price range so yeah never getting it very likely.

Ah yeah speaking of which I may have just recently managed to get something actually really quite good I've been after for years even if it's missing an unimportant accessory. A figure purchase 10 fucking years in the making like what happened with CW devastator. not spoiling it in case I don't luck out and some sort of deal goes wrong.

But I hate that I have to buy both Soundwaves to get the two new tapes.
genuinely ass especially considering the pricing

EDIT TO AVOID DOUBLE POST: Update on the thing. It's coming. Still no sign of shipment on the fucking chinese sharks but this other thing from america is coming for sure. pre-owned figure missing one or two small parts that are completely optional extras. My broke ass having to do a pay in 4 on a figure that while a little above my normal comfort zone is still EXTREMELY CHEAPER than what people are trying to sell the thing for. I can't get over how some people are completely ok paying 170 dollars or 300+ dollars for a leader class figure like how the fuck do they get that kind of money in the first place to be comfortable with that? Fucking rancid seeing the prices people want for the thing right now especially with how the US release version was discounted to 20 dollars from 50 for a bit. Yes that's a hint about what the figure is. It's also me once again pointing out even if I had money I wouldn't be paying the insano prices people want for action figures these days.

I forgot to update on the thing I got for a decent price after it arrived a day or two back. Time's fucky lately and I'm kind of falling apart. I know I said it was coming on TUESDAY but I can't remember if it actually came the same day or the day after since I've been staying up two days in a row more often than I'd like. Anyways trying to upload my photo seems to keep causing the site to rape attachments and hang them on 100% so I'm doing the second best thing and screengrabbing them then sending them through to see if it actually loads proper.

Fuck the people trying to sell this for the prices they're selling it at. I don't even give a shit if it's missing some nonessentials, I'm just glad to actually FINALLY be able to afford something like this in the first place (slightly above leader price/technically it's now leader price probably). I don't got a proper photo setup and I'm too fucking dead lately to even try so back of the box BG standing upper torso A stance pose is what you get for now. What's interesting to me is how the camera flash makes the blue almost look metallic, but I think that's just a trick of the light.

Hard to believe the version I ended up getting of this figure is the one I thought I'd never manage to due to US sellers just scalping the shit out of it even when it first came out and JP sellers racking up the price to 100+ as well. I think I griped in the thread at some point about this version's ports being covered up but I'm fine with that now even if I CAN technically take apart the figure and remove the inserts. the plain off-white face also looks a lot better in person and I wish I was able to capture how it looks in photos.

EDIT: figured I'd go looking for my earlier post. Really wish I got the US version of overlord before resellers decided he's worth charging the same price people charge for the JP version but things really haven't ever lined up for me in the way I'd like well over a decade now.
Titans return overlord runs about 30 dollars used and new in some cases. It's weird because there was so much hype around that figures release and they barely stocked it around by me. He's not the largest figure but he's a solid albeit smaller remake of the original figure he's based on. I've been on and off about buying him for a while now but from what I've seen and heard he's solid and scales generally well with the WFC guys. Now, the takara version is a different story. Scalped since day 1 of release and though the colorations a bit more accurate to the original g1 appearance of the character there's some weird shit that kinda brings it back a little like the chest being hollow on the outside rather than the inside and the prime master/power master display functionality getting removed because they were too cheap to include 2 more small figures. People have modded the figure by unscrewing the torso and breaking out the inserts that were glued in, but I'm not willing to do that to a figure that's 200 fucking dollars right now. Can't even afford shit like it to begin with.

It's always been fucking wild to me how in overlord's original appearance he wasn't actually a sentient being. he was a mech piloted by a human couple given to them by a satanic space fetus. Said mech later actually was given sentience by said space fetus and pretty much became a normal transformer after that. The Japanese exclusive seasons of g1 are fucking out there at times, though g1 in general kinda has that kinda weird chaotic energy about it.
I was wrong about them being glued in though. There's strangely no video tutorials on how to take it apart but there's some examples where people just slid it out from the back by pushing really really hard after taking it apart shit's just TIGHT in there.

Okay for some reason KF didn't cooperate with me for searching this thread again and I thought I was blocked (probably, it's in the name remember? I'd block me too) But a friend of mine got those new cheap TF rubber ducks for me. They're cute. I wish we had an anniversary line of the Human Alliance packs throughout each iteration. Saw Bayverse Jazz from one pack and he was CHUNKY. Peter Cullen canceled a convention appearance I'm going to so I'm still a little worried bummed about it. Oh and late happy birthday to him BTW.

I worry too much about old men who voice kids cartoons...

DNA designs revealed their Nexus Prime upgrade kit. Cuts a much more visually striking figure, but I'm hesitant to invest without the promise of a dedicated combiner skeleton.
Atp, I have no idea if dna is going to make a frame, hastak is going to make one or I have to pony up about a hundred dollars and tax on a silverbolt. This looks serviceable for an upgrade kit but at the same time, I have no intention for an upgrade on Nexus prime.

what bugs me about the recent DNA kits is they seem a bit closer in styling to the 3d printed stuff some people put out rather than their own thing. The sideways kit is especially odd like this becuase they don't do the obvious thing and make a new foot entirely but they do what some 3d print kits do and make it a weird extra uneccessary hinge thing where the og foot is on the inside of the leg. There's also 3d printed kits that completely replace the feet with more accurate ones but they're 3d printed solid parts so no engineering to fold them up like the og feet sadly.
