I find it funny how Hasbro said no were not doing the twins that watched Scary Movie and act like Shorty but is okay with having kiss players getting representation
They spent the last 4 or 5 years not allowing cobra commander to have his hood on in a really retarded mandate because "oh it might look like the kkk" till they realized people had been 3d printing heads and another company made a compatible head in a figure they made that was more or less "not cobra commander" so now he's got a 70 dollar special hooded throne set.

What I'm saying is give it time they'll probably do some stupid exclusive eventually once it's wayyyy too late for interest.

I just want the twins in the ice cream truck. All im asking.

Now's your chance!
https://youtube.com/watch?v=_eDr-UlMboAI think I may have bought the Fire Dagwon toy for my brother as a gift like 20 years ago. There was a jet plane and another toy that was a Galaxy Shuttle remold that could connect to the top of the jet. Does that sound right? They were in Korean Sonokong packaging, but I think they were licensed reissues.
He looks wonderful. I was hoping he'd be bigger like Toyrise Exkaiser but considering how wide and unwieldy he ended up being combined with Dragonkaiser and how ridiculous the Super Fire Dagwon combination gets especially with Lian & Gunkid I think the smaller size is probably smart. I just hope they don't cop out on the add-ons, and I want to see Takara take a crack at CHUG Brave combiner teams, not just the main mecha. they showed off a Choryuujin prototype which is great but I want to see how they'd handle a God Max or a Liner Dagwon in this style.

Incredible parody of what would happen if political issues really screwed things up a bit more. Lol.
One of my biggest beefs with the troons is that you can no longer say you're a transfan without people thinking you're into girldick.
I wouldn't completely agree, but I'm not completely against it either. Many people believe that non-binary people should have more representation and they truly believe in childhood transsexualism.
Well in the press release photos they did show an alternate configuration doing the iconic scream and it has her more accurate show proportions. I too always assumed she was female (big ups to Hasbro for confirming it) and in the context of the episode her being called “it” was just to show how the Maximals and the Preds viewed her, as a barley sentient abomination.

I’m gonna pick her up, I’m not one for Beast Wars but a non-Predacon Fossilizer is too good to pass up.

I feel that the Transmutant character is a bit overrated. His tragic life as a person with a disability dying in a war between two factions is surprisingly beautiful in its narrative, but I feel that some people see it as an "anti-war" episode in a non-ironic way. I mean, I'm aware that "war kills," but after that episode, we go back to the war between the Maximals and the Predacons.
Truck, not monkey! Faggot.
The fandom is divided as always. Imagine, an illusion was expected, that the message wouldn't apply to the community. There are people who treat the media literally, as if they expected that giving representation to an abstract concept like a "non-binary character" would be great, but that bothers me quite a bit since they treat their brand as "sacred."

I haven’t watched Earthspark since S1 but has it really gone down hill?

I mean, I feel like the series didn't have much to offer a casual viewer beyond the typical stuff. The ending, in particular, feels like they ruined Megatron as a character. They stripped him of all his development to turn him into a generic cartoon villain, and Twitch doesn't say much, or anything, like "Megatron's evil again, ha!" as if the writers were delusional about getting more seasons, like they were trying to make an "Animated Season 4 version 2.0," honestly.
The people that were praising it initially did so pretty much solely because of the character that got the little dedicated pronoun lecture segment every fucking piece of media has to have these days and how much it "andgered the right people" or whatever because there were black leads, something which nobody aside from the politically brain poisoned teamsports and maybe very racist actually give a shit about. You can't coast off that small bit of vapid hype forever. Surprised this thing got more listed "seasons" than a lot of more frequently talked about transformers TV shows but that's just the netflix original-ification of how shit's been produced I guess.
God, "progressive" ideologies have done more harm than good. I mean, the main characters are the most "average human children" in the Transformers series, and the creators just get it into their heads that they're "interesting" because of their skin color because of "BLM."

I mean, the series is now very "mature" because an alien robot claims to be non-binary, or because it deals with transphobia and homophobia. I mean, it's pretty simplistic for someone like me. I can't believe this "first non-binary Transformer" thing because Cybertronians were supposed to be genderless, and the Marvel comics writer is literally criticizing feminism with the creation of Arcee to say, "Hey, we don't have those concepts of women because we only have neutral ones." I mean, apparently, square robots are very "masculine"? And then it was explained better that the separation based on more sexualized appearances was to be more in line with the alien species for "better understanding."

I think the biggest issue with earthspark aside from blandness is the fact it was simultaneously trying to be a much kiddier cartoon than most Transformers while ALSO doing a mature post-war story... AS A NEW INCARNATION OF THE FUCKING TRANSFORMERS.

I remember a few months ago I ended up coming across some kinda review of a non-gendershit episode of it and the summary of the episode was literally a better "self identity" lesson than the abrupt pronouns lecture because it was about some Transformer who just couldn't find the right kinda altmode he wanted and had a complex about beign the only guy on the team that couldn't transform till he eventually finds a dinosaur fossil and goes "yeah this is the one". Thing is that episode isn't supposed to be about identity apparently no it's supposed to be "neurodivergent rep" and that's why it was being praised. People just praise shit if it has a buzzword salad attached even if it conflicts with what's presented on screen.

I dunno call me crazy but I find the g1 cartoon explanation of "yeah they were always there but just like on decepticon occupied cybertron sabotaging shit" a funny and kinda worth it explanation. Viewing them as some kinda extra or tacked on last minute creation to be more relatable to humans is kinda what opened the door for the kinda preachy IDW and earthspark segments about gendershit, kind of a double edge in a sense I guess because like you said the focus on female transformers in general shouldn't really be a big thing in canon because they're fucking aliens. Despite humanoid appearance they clearly don't have the same baggage as humans when it comes to that kinda thing.

If I hear another "not called cisformers is it sweetie? UwU" I will commit a hate crime
It would be awful to pigeonhole a power into a single gender. It's not like the entire Cybertronian race could be "non-binary" simply because they transform. I wonder if they even "know" what non-binary is? Because Nightshade seems less androgynous, even a bit "feminine," though it's just the "generic male" form of the Transformers in its line, which makes it somewhat unnecessary, even for its own line.

It's like in a strange setting, a race of aliens who were supposed to be genderless suddenly reveal that there were Fembots and Trannybots, and then out of nowhere they show several gay couples, which is very nice, but the fact that Cybertronians "didn't have gender" is quite perplexing, since within several continuities there are indications that they can form families, not only of siblings but of fathers, mothers, children, and so on.

God, Transformers is generally known as the robots that transform into things that are at war. Earthspark deals with the "Post-War" period and focuses on "New Characters," but there's hardly any real plot beyond the weekly Decepticon. And I mean, those who defended Nightshade barely know how to analyze the series.
I mean, no psychological exploration of Optimus, Megatron, Bee, or anything? Instead, they look for an "Autistic Transformer" because he likes dinosaurs and the critics praise him for it
New issue of the comic dropped and I think its alright. I thought Optimus struggling with not being a prime is interesting and they did it without making a worse or pathetic character.
At least it's not a "political agenda" thing, but more of a corporate agenda. The Transformers One movie brought Elita One into the public eye, enough to elevate her to an exploitable character almost like Bumblebee (possibly on a smaller scale), but I don't rule out that it's a bit political... I don't know, I feel like it follows the pattern of making the male character look bad so that the female character seems better.

Jokes on them, I draw the females curvy and explicitly lady-looking in retaliation cuz I got sick of seeing troon botted Arcees and Elitas. And lma-fucking-o if their delusional penniless asses thought they'd even be so much as a MICRON of what TFA was. Honestly I'd trust Chris Chan to make a better series than ES, his insanity would be a good case study if he did a show. Also the Skybound run has honestly gotten way too tryhard/3edgy5me imo. Didn't like how Elita punched the Matrix either, its a sacred item bitch have some respect. But Hasbro won't give us a nice Optimus x Elita relationship anytime soon cuz fuck you I guess (it'd be healthy to do so actually) I really just wish at this point studios and toy companies abandoned the kidult demographic, it's been an absolute disaster to everyone from newborn to grave bound. I don't even care if it costs us decent figures from Hasbro. If that's the trade off for none of this millennial crybaby shit then here you go.

The kids are paying for it in so many ways already...

Just living up to my name.

On a more positive note my stupid Prima finally popped up in my mailbox. Probably gonna get the full upgrade kit for him later. There's a Sludge/Slag at my Walmart that I'm humoring due to inevitable scalpers but I got some things to take care of first. If it wasn't for resellers I wouldn't be struggling with the temptation and severe FOMO. Swindle is more practical than these idiots.

Been some time since i lasted ranted about something in the Transformers franchise and you could probably guess what it's about.
Since issue 30, the quality of the comic's writing sharply descended into mediocrity and honest to god boredom. Issue 32 admittedly briefly tethered my interest to the comics again, with Dreamwave Megatronus appearing since 2 decades that wasn't in toy form. But i don't expect this to be permanent and issue 33 proves that. I will never understand why they tied Optimus's capabilities, identity and appearance to the matrix. Dreamwave and even somewhat IDW had a better design of Optimus Prime back when he used to be Orion Pax and didn't horribly gimp his strength like the skybound comics do. Elita one is a infuriating bitch in the comics and i legitimately hope she dies sooner or later. Im gonna assume her current character arc is a setup for her brutal humbling or they'll continue to portray her as being torally awesome and way stronger than Optimus Prime. If the comics keep going in this direction, i already don't care about the potential show they'll release. I'll just revisit older comics and shows and patiently wait for a bluray release on top of that. Also the current artstyle is pretty bad and in certain parts ugly. It's a worse version of what daniel johnson drew and after Dan Mora's amazing artistic proficiency, seeing the new artstyle is like a flashbang to the face, but the effects linger extensively.
Anyway, supposedly there's a new transformers game in development (that isn't reactive of course) and will have footage released in either june or july? I don't know if this is the one developed by saber interactive or a completely different game studio, but i suppose that remains to be seen. Can't be that much more dissapointing after reactive and what's been happening with the skybound comics

I'm trying to wrap my head on how fucked the budget has gotten. The whole point of reducing from 4 to 3 waves a year was to decongest shelves and have more tooling.

Shelves have not been more conjested due to no one wanting to pay the absurd prices and the 3rd wave is still completely budget raped...

This is why I only collect Takara lmao
