i hit the jackpot at a trift store:
a boxed micromaster playset with extra doods for 7,50 euros.
i nearly lost my shit when they wanted to put tape on it so "the items won't fall out".
i had to contain myself not to let it slip that the thing is nearly 40 years old. when they where putting it up.
Holy crap. That's one of the only G1 toys I never had.* Nice find!
*Aside from a few Action Masters. I didn't like those and still don't.

I rember $12 deluxes during Bush II.
The plastic also used to be thicker and they had gimmicks. Literally all that's holding back some of the old figures from being on the same standard or higher than modern ones is one or two missing joint cuts. Tidal wave, armada megatron, and energon megatron/galvatron are ones that immediately come to mind as the only things they really don't have is either a knee or ankle joint. The only thing missing for a lot of the generations/classics figures being just an ankle joint.

what would make this impressive if they shrunk him down to a commander class to scale better with galvatron
He is canonically bigger than Galvatron at his full size, so this will scale perfectly for that, while the original toy will scale perfectly for his shrunk down form when he has to board the Galvaburg, and the Blokees or Dr Wu mini version can be his super-shrunk down version when Galvatron starts beating the shit out of him and shrinks him down to toy size.

Galaxy Force/Cybertron was the last line with good thick plastic, as well as lights and electronics and spring-loaded whatnots. Animated came a couple years afterward and while the plastic was still good, the toys themselves were very simplistic by comparison and likely had smaller than average part counts in each size class. Don't quote me on any of that though, this is just conjecture.

why the fuck are voyagers now 52 dollars on several online stores is that just the new price for them and I missed another price hike

My oversized sharkticons still haven't shipped and I'm getting kinda pissed about that, also my bailiff from that troop pack from a few years ago went missing. Found someone selling the olive green pit of judgement variant of him for cheap around the same time and after a few hours of ripping apart piles of boxes and having a shelf fall on me I said fuck it and ordered it. Remind me to open my pit of judgement I got a few years back sometime, I still haven't gotten around to it, that really shows how dead I am the last few years I think. So yeah I'll have two entire olive green animation/dvd color error ones.

I've just made my peace with never getting a siege astrotrain for a sane price used due to the shitty new one and the scalpers hoarding the triple takeover sets. I forgot how weirdly rickety feeling the titans return one was till i took mine off the box it had been sitting on for a while and put it into robot mode. it was dustier than it should be, shit accumulates too fast.

Managed to get a sealed Fire Guts God Ginrai and Sky Garry during my business trip. Also got a Dragon Kaiser and God Max, preowned but the boxes were in good shape. Brave shelve is starting to look good. Mostly it just has all the updated stuff, but I hope to get more vintage figures in the line.

I just realized I never brought up the legends class gnaws I picked up recently. Not the KO oversized studio series ones that still haven't shipped I mean like titans return one I had the official oversized version of (cyberverse) already. Can't take photos right now but there's stress marks on the legs by the knee for both of them that weren't there when i got them and I'm hoping the legs don't just explode someday cause it's just hot white stress marks despite there being no pressure there.

One of them's the pit of judgement metallic version but the paint on the purple's kinda fucked up in a way i thought was some kinda fungus at first but then when I put light under it it's likely just the paint itself being thin enough for the area to look like a darker spot.

Getting a lot of fishmen lately...

As a fellow Brave collector (if you can imagine), I wish you luck. My entire collection was built off daily checking eBay for years while waiting for opportunities at rare figures for reasonable prices. I've managed to get most of the main mecha aside from some obnoxiously and bizarrely rare ones like Da Garn, Fire Dagwon, and Exkaiser. Finally assembling Great Goldran was one of my grails for a while thanks to Leon Kaiser being at least $500 everywhere I could find it, but patience paid off when one eventually popped up for about 200 bucks at the time. Fingerprints are a nightmare on gold chrome by the way. Hilariously for some reason, all the ninja characters are the hardest to find in every series. Like I've never seen a Big Volfogg or Shadow Dagwon, or even a Shadowmaru that wasn't incomplete or several hundred dollars.

I could have gotten a Fire Dagwon but it was looking rough. Most of what I have is the smaller figures, model kits, and anything new that's come out over the past decade or so. Sometimes the Japanese import stores will bring in some stuff here but usually I have to check ebay. Found a preowned boxed Shadow Dagwon back in the day for a decent amount. Same with a boxed Build Tiger. A sealed Shadow Dagwon is a bit out of my price reach at $4k +.

Several Brave characters are just recolored and/or remolded transformers, if you weren't aware.
I saw an ebay listing a while back for a red deathsaurus "knockoff" for cheap (in comparison to deathsaurus on ebay) , didn't get it but I'm assuming given the slight differences it was probably either just this guy or a knockoff of him. Didn't get it though because it was still out of a comfortable price range for me at like 50 dollars.

Probably an original Red Geist, yeah. The community was well aware that some very rare figures were available for much cheaper in Brave packaging. Dagbase for example, is just Grandus from Battlestars. Dai Atlas was in Might Gaine, Sky Garry was in Goldran. Shadowmaru, who I previously mentioned, is a retooled Sixshot.

Edit: Apparently TF Wiki has a whole section on it.

Dai Atlas was a workhorse mold in that series. I'd love to see a 3rd party work on every series so I can get the characters in a similar size range. My collection is all over the place.

depending on how picky you are, I do have a spare Da Garn and Exkaiser I'm trying to sell along with a bunch of other Brave spares I've acquired trying to complete my collection.
