The fact that he seems smaller than the siege one in some ways and is more expensive by a noticable amount makes it really hurt. And the siege one was just a voyager with pointless armor to bump up the price!

Wish I had the money for the animation colors 3 pack with him in it when that came out because fuck man if they redo blitzwing it's gonna be worse I can FEEL IT. Funny shit too because the legacy blitzwing was already "compromised" in people's eyes because of the sculpt's dedication to the g1 alt modes instead of making them realistic.

A friend has informed me that Matt Trakker will be blacked again in the new comics. Supposedly a Hasbro mandate, but who knows if that's true. He's white in the toys.

Given the large amount of woke IDW crap we're getting in the Energonverse books, at this point I wonder what will happen next, Arcee suddenly revealed to be trans again, Drift showing up and revealing Ratchet was his homosexual lover, or Snake Eyes finally debuting only to be humiliated and killed off by Quick Kick, while Quick Kick calls SE racist for daring to be a white boy ninja.... Not to mention how long it takes for Hickman to put Aubrey Sitterson on one of the books, since Aubrey is to Kirkman what tranny Mags is to Scott Snyder in terms of proteges...

I'm kinda drifting around the internet waiting for Iron Wariorr to make an announcement that yes, we're working on it ™ so I'm frankly at a standstill with waiting for anything that remotely intrigues me. Eva Prime is on my list of course. Don't care that its a gimmick I'm hyped. You'd think Hasbro would just pimp out TF to other mecha media like Patlabor or Brave series (let me dream)

Speaking of hasbro exclusive shit I miss that thing they were doing for a bit I never got any figures of where each year they would come out with a few special release figures branded under the name of whatever chinese/lunar new year animal it was.

Doesn't feel like it's already been over a decade since they did all those clear and bronze repaints for year of the goat. I think those selling badly might have killed it but they also wanted over 100 for those so no shit they're not gonna sell too well during pre-rona times when scalpers weren't deathspiraling as constantly as they do now. Seriously look up prices of shit like hot wheels cars from the 2000s right now it's actual insanity. 40-200 for small beat up mass produced car toys that were fucking everywhere. It's unrelated but it's like just a showcase of what kind of shit scalpers buying off each other can cause. I actually came across my old one a while back and tried looking it up because I couldn't remember the name only to stumble upont he wonderful deathspiral of scalping that is acceleracers hot wheels hyperpods.There was apparently a version of this that came with an SUV or a sportscar that's seemingly more prevalent in listings than the one I had which is this one with the alien car.

Most hyperpods are just like motorized gimmicks or geared gimmicks but this one's like a car you put the smaller car in and then can launch the fender of as a missile. "car that's driven by another car that people scalp on ebay and buy off other scalpers to try and get prices higher" has to be the most fucking autistic thing in my posession.

The toys currently being released for MASK are really poor QC reissues of the 80s ones with brittle plastic and new figures at like 10 times the cost. You can literally get the originals for cheaper on ebay and easily piece together a full one with the only thing you'd be missing out on being a tiny bit more leg and arm articulation.

if hasbro weren't utter hacks they'd make new 1:18 scale vehicle remakes instead of outsourcing to another company to make the reissues of older toys at a premium. But then again they don't let the HIYA gi joe figures (the company they currently outsource to for newer modern style 4 inch joes) sell in the US for some retarded reason leaving only the retro style super7 figures on shelves.
 
Hasbro has no respect for MASK. They don't respect any of their Kenner acquisitions.

It's really foolish because I get the impression that MASK has more international recognition and appeal than G.I. Joe from what I've seen online. But they've just let the brand fall into obscurity.

I see all kinds of opportunities that they never explored. They should have licensed out the vehicles to Hot Wheels and Jada.

They did a little during the 2000s-2010s but nothing ever really came of it outside MASK characters showing up in gi joe stuff or referenced elsewhere.

I can't remember if I knew about MASK before or after the remake of matt trakker came out int he gi joe anniversary figure line back in the day.

Also in 2017 they had a better colored one that was locked to a convention box set and given the head of the IDW matt trakker who is BLACK because of course

Only issue I got with the con exclusive one aside from it being roped into IDW despite being a repainted earlier modernized take and the con exclusive nature is the legs and lower torso they swapped out from the OG remake one are a bit ganglier looking. Actually got it for surprisingly cheap a while back, will eventually send photos after swapping the head for something that might work. Haven't decided what I'm gonna do head-wise since I don't got a matt trakker head.

There's weirdly some shit from back whent hey used to put effort intot heir 1:18 toys that are basically MASK vehicle remakes without them being MASK vehicles too but that's another story.

There's also the snake eyes motorcycle from sigma 6 which is not the same scale but is really kind of blatant what it's a modernized take on.

I know he's become a LOLcow, but Retroblasting's old videos on MASK are solid.
He's right that MASK was almost as big as Transformers and GI Joe. Probably at the same level as Voltron and GoBots.
That's why I think Hasbro dropped the ball and let the MASK franchise slip into obscurity for anybody under 40.

DC Comics made MASK comics back in the day and the UK had their own comics. I would rather either of these get reprinted instead of this "modern audience" Matt Blakker crap.

it's funny that he was made black not just because they could but for likely explicitly reasons tied to that specific weird tide of forced race shit the last several years. Outside of that though I don't think him being black is that important, I just find it weird and annoying the improved version of the modern style matt trakker remake figure has a head based on the IDW one while not really looking anything like that one's design.

This design would be actually cool to see as a figure IMO whether the IDW shit was actually any good or not. Instead we got "convention exclusive repaint of a modernized take on the 80s trakker that's closer to the original figure's colors and the IDW head"

I mean I guess the white/lighter gray stripe is on there too but everything else on the con figure doesn't even match this look.
