That Astrotain is such a piece of shit and that's really unfortunate because he's one character i really wanted that recieves infrequent releases, the fact we finally have a new Astrotrain and the finalized design is stunningly subpar is tragic. On the other hand, Takara's stuff continues to impress me, Overgear Blackout is 100% a high priority figure to me and that Eva-01 Optimus looks spectacular

It looks like the panel the head is on can fold down further, and the chest panels should fold down to fill out the torso more, it wouldn't surprise me if the legs were mistransformed as well.

It GREATLY bothers me that the "new definitive ss86 shockwave!" just has remolded earthrise-esque greeble removal and doesn't even paint the sides of his legs.That bothered me with the marvel comics deco and to see it carry over to this "animation accurate" one bugs the ever loving fuck out of me even more.

Dude I am so fucking glad I got the dramatic capture 3 pack that has a g1 cartoon color shockwave in it off a guy that was selling his shit to make space. This figure is literally just that but with less mecha-esque sculpting detail and somehow less paint. Seems to share the weird light gray the dramatic capture 3 pack used for all 3 figures too.

Might still get him if he goes on any sort of discount. No guarantees though.

Sunstreaker and wheeljack are just piecemealed reissues of the autobot 5 pack versions, wheeljack specifically is fucking odd and stinky because "devastation wheeljack" was the same fucking thing as this one and the prior one but with a slight bit of cel shading added to the windscreen. This is the THIRD FUCKING TIME this wheeljack's been released in this exact deco and they removed the addition they just added to it.

Kranix is near perfect but oddly blocky looking, likely due to them giving him an alt mode when in the movie he's just a random alien dude and not a Transformer.

Nigga you guys have been apologizing for 40 years for this shit the backlash tot he first death was so big that they literally course corrected by bringing him back via wacky quintesson bullshit where they revive his corpse and then the matrix fully restores his mind making him break the conditioning and sacrifice himself in a badass way only to get revived AGAIN a little while after and not die that time.

Hellt hat's not even counting the several times he died in the Marvel comics.

Still aside fromt he kinda poopy opening this is a pretty fun ad. Some real [#1ratedsalesman1997] energy about it.

Yes I know about the unused alt mode. Was going to bring up how I liked that the alt mode was actually based on it but didn't. In the final movie he very clearly wasn't capable of transforming into a jet or really anything because he got thrown around by the quintesson guards and then fed to the sharkticons. If he could turn into a space jet with a gun on it he'd be out of there easily.

scalpers are insane with transformers in general right now. I've been personallyw atchign something I didn't have money for get passed around between several sellers and shoot up from 20 to 70 over the span of the last week and it angers me.

Also found out that for some reason almost every shockwave figure is over 100 on ebay right now. Doesn't matter what one it is if it's not the siege one all listings are beat up or missing pieces demanding 80-300 dollars. last time I checked animated shockwave was sitll like 20-40 so I don't know what the fuck happened here. maybe some "influencer" hyped up value again or something? Should probably find my old one and pull it out sometime.

I saw those guys only ONCE on the shelf. I had to pay scalpers for Ultra Magnus.
Somehow I found Hot Wheels Tracks twice. I got some for my nephews the second time. The kids didn't seem that impressed. They don't know the character or the rarity I guess.

I know the reason they didn't is probably "ah no war" stuff but as blocky and janky as it is I think a better one than "airazor again" would be just straight up the one that's got a military missile launching vehicle and an eagle as it's two alt modes. Hell give the vehicle mode gi joe details it'd be fucking perfect man

EDIT: Realized I never got ER doubledealer despite aiming to get him at some point and rememebred he was still cheap last time I looked him up, looked him up and now every listing that's not got it's guns or legs pulled off to be sold separately is 80 dollars. I want to kill people.

After realizing my pay in 4 shits finally all cleared I then proceeded to do yet another pay in 4 for some used figures that were a lot cheaper than the discounted third party figure I did one for using the christmas cash. I did this because I'm fucking broke and tired of watching every sanely priced used figure lot that's not in shit condition get swiped up and each figure relisted for over 50 dollars each or over 100 in some cases. NO scalper child I will NOT be paying 70 dollars plus 20 dollar shipping for a nameless mook guy.

Seriously I am never gonna be able to do that small squad of autoroopers at this rate. Legacy version's scalped at 70 and the og alternators figures from over 20 years ago are people that want 300+ for the shit now for some abhorrent reason.

Actually I got an Idea recently to use custom heads on some of the police vehicle figures that don't fucking sell like legacy strongarm but it'd require me to figure out how to resin recast heads I have in a way that makes them compatible with certain other figures.

EDIT: Call me schizo but this could also be used for a weird deluxe scale g2 optimus

Like I can see why this figure didn't sell looking at it in a way even scalpers don't want it but I also see it working if you swapped out the weird kinda fugly painted face head out with an OP head and colored it like g2 laser optimus.

He was shown properly transformed on one of those showcase livestreams I missed

Arms still look ropey as hell but aside form that he looks f-yeah the chest still looks like ass folded down.

But wait! there's an "optional additional mode" that gives his chest the fold out parts from the toy and actually is probably the actual intended look of the chest because of how it fills everything out cleanly.

I think what hurts about this new astrotrain is how he's just ever so close to being perfect yet so fucking far due to likely some internal shit.

His train mode has a fold out boarding door from the movie. The stream frames it like that's from the scene where they throw some of their own decepticons out of him but that's just wrong. You literally look at any screengrab or upload of the scene and they toss everyone out a sliding side-door.

Anyways it's scaled for those tiny figures that came with the special edition galvatron from a few years back and the optimus that came with the ark.

Good lord they did Astrotrain so dirty. He wasn't my favorite triple changer but he deserves a better figure than this. Remolding the Siege figure would've been preferable.
