Not the kinda guy that normally can afford titans and got fucked out of tidal wave preorder as I said but he's mainly just fucked up by being too big and too simplistic as far as I'm aware unless there's something else defect wise I missed. Once again don't have him so can't check for shit

In terms of things I can check for though, my used takara-only powerlinx starscream I got recently has developed a shoulder stress mark in a weird area. reminds me of what happened to my SG prime when I moved the arm. Very gross looking and I hope it doesn't break on me. Seems stable-ish still though.

Well I heard Tidal Wave self-destructed (and should’ve been commander) imo, they should’ve sunsetted Titan class years ago and just made room for more commanders. One of the reasons I hit the “fuck it, sell” button was how too-common it was that big tickets were self-destructing. Cuckclonus discolouring, titans caving in, Jetfire discolouring, cutting corners on handles of all things and all the clear plastic figs I had from Earthrise. Then I saw those corrosive blast effects packaged on the Fallen? Get those fiery boys out of the box pronto.

I heard Fort Max is getting a fig this year? Fuck, he was my favorite Autobot, not just for the “he’s huge” wow factor. Whenever they give Max a personality, he’s usually one of the best developed characters, gets his shit fucked up but he usually comes out of it tougher.

Fort Max is going to be a leader coming out in 2027 as a Studio Series comic book figure, probably the IDW version, since another 2027 release is G1 comic Soundwave.
 
Initially i was neutral on Overgear and intended to skip it, much like the missing link line. But seeing the designs and it supposedly being a continuation of Binaltech/Alternators has increased my interest and i want to prioritize these figures now, Blackout especially looks amazing for a version of the character that isn't Bayverse. On a unrelated note, i still hate how hasbro forced Star Convoy into being the "thirteenth prime", he was originally a upgraded form of the resurrected Optimus Prime from the Japanese G1 timeline, which was fine, but now i'm supposed to believe he always was a transcendent figure above ordinary cybertronians directly descended from Primus himself? Really hope this shit doesn't appear in any future Transformers media and i'm glad Takara kept his original interpretation

Both fort max and scorponok are some of the most under utilized characters from g1 imo, spike working with cerebro in US G1 is a pretty cool idea and shows how closely connected he became to the autobots. Scorponok being a character to challenge galvatron's weakening influence wouldve been cool to see if hasbro didnt give up on g1 s4.

I wish more headmasters and post cartoon shit got released imo. There are so many characters and toys that havent seen the light of day that look sick or have some fun moments in comics and the jp stuff.

I always found it odd how the JP and US versions of headmasters and powermasters/godmasters got swapped around. US's last episode of g1 and the g1 comics making the headmasters weird green fuckers or humans, and the JP stuff ignores that shit completely and just continues from the end of season 3 making them normal transformers that get into larger transformer body's as mechs which honestly makes a little more sense given the fact headmasters without their partner are literally just headless robots. IIRC the g1 cartoon's US side "solved" the issue with that by just having the head magically still be there even when the headmaster isn't on somehow. Powermasters get treated like energy power pack drone things for the most part in the non-jp g1 IIRC while in the JP g1 cartoon seasons they're humans in power armor that can plug into and pilot transformer mechs.


Really weird to me with how easy it'd be to engineer for them to never really make any headmasters that have a normal head that flips around to attach a headmaster in a port. I mean they have that NOW with the upcoming armada sideways remake but it's done so fucking shittily and half assed in a head scratching manner compared to the original figure. Hilariously, despite being the one headmaster to have a normal head on top of the headmaster minicons, his original concept of his headmasters basically giving him schizophrenia was completely scrapped. They were just made into extensions of him he used to showcase his faction change.

Currently aailable one is perfect but has a rubber cape. Easily fixed, yes? Only orther issue is it's the blue outfit rather than the original green.

I've actually been tempted to get another next time I see one on discount if ever and just custom sculpt and repaint the green outfit parts.
