Apparently Predaking is ~$330 + shipping on Amazon Japan compared to $300 for Liokaiser, both of which are too much for combiners the size of Legacy Menasor.
leokaiser at least has the excuse to be seven figures including the stretchgoals.
predaking looks so frikin' good but you can tell that the components had to suffer to make the combined mode work.

Well, I’m out lads. Sold off the last of my stuff today. After the move I might get a higher-end Megatron or 3P for the shelf but my days are done.

Or I might get SS86 Megatron because he was a monkey’s paw for so long.

Here's an email HobbyLink Japan sent out to its customers.
“Thank you for your continued support of HobbyLink Japan.

The situation surrounding international shipping to America is once again changing. As announced in a White House press release, the currently existing rules on ‘De Minimis,’ which exempts shipments valued at under $800 from tariffs, is expected to be removed.

The recent announcement implies that a flat-rate fee will be added to shipments valued at under $800, based on the effective IEEPA Tariff rate decided by the US government. These charges begin at $80 dollars and increase depending on the tariff rate of the country of origin.

This means that our currently available shipping methods to the US could be affected. However, we cannot verify with certainty that the JP post methods will definitely be affected.

Therefore, we would like to advise customers in the US to prepare for the possibility of tariffs also being applied to JP post methods following August 29th.

In particular, we recommend utilizing the Private Warehouse. As we have recently experienced delays, currently we are not enforcing our 6-month storage limit, and allowing customers to store for an indefinite period of time.

If you are shipping to the US, we recommend shipping as soon as you can, however, please be aware that we are still experiencing some delays, and we highly recommend using the Private Warehouse if you are concerned about your shipment arriving in time. Depending on the time of your shipment request, we cannot guarantee arrival before the 29th.

We will update all customers as soon soon as we receive any additional information regarding this change.

Kind regards,
HLJ Team”
From my reading of the executive order linked in the message, every package under $800 will either have a duty that is a percentage of the package value based on the tariff rate for the country of origin applied. Alternatively, they can use the rates below. The company used to ship the package into America chooses which duty scheme to use.
  • <16% = $80
  • 16-25% = $160
  • >25% = $200
EDIT: The crippling issue this duty scheme has is that it's dependent on a package's value being accurate to what is on the label, an easy way around these duties is to list the value of small & lightweight packages at $10-20. After all CBP doesn't have enough time & men to tear open every small package and determine if the listed value is accurate.
TL:DR 3rd party legends won't be significantly affected, 3PMP fags on suicide watch.

Define "significantly". my 3rd party legends scale non-transforming iron factory figure was 10 or 13 dollars more when it came in from BBTS after being delayed constantly which would make buying from a chinese ebay seller infinitely cheaper because they're still going by the pre-tariff pricing. That's a 40 something dollar figure becoming a 50 something dollar figure plus tax and no additional value from the exchange. I'm already ridiculously selective with my shit due to not wanting to overspend and now i'm just not gonna be able to get anything. We're in a time when people are fucking unironically claiming "well factoring in for tariffs and inflation $500 on a 7 inch action figure is actually really cheap!" and it's NOT because they genuinely believe it. Nobody believes that shit. This isn't real. It's almost always buyers remorse or "value speculator" scalper hustle shit.

EDIT: You seen lego lately? They re-released the downsized slave 1 in jango fett colors and want 80 fucking dollars for a set that was available literally a year ago in different colors with different minifigs for 40. That's the kind of price hike BS we're dealing with in current year eternal. And it's treated like it's NORMAL.

Because 25% of a $30‐50 legends figure isn't as bad as 25% of a masterpiece figure that is $100-200+.

That's why I stopped getting licensed sets, the prices had gotten farcical, also the main discussion surrounding the most recent Star Wars wave is how overpriced it is, people have noticed how bad pricing has gotten.

i can't believe hasbro will actualy do titans of obscure movie robots that collectively are minutes in the movie.
outside of grimlock, who is going to buy these?
i always had the idea the size class will be abandoned with every new figure they mzke just because of price, but i think these are actualy going to sell like ass.
