Now, I’m not trying to laugh at COPD at all- I had a non-smoker relative who battled it for years. It was brought on by decades of secondhand smoke inhalation from working in the hospitality industry during the era when everybody smoked/smoking was commonplace indoors. It was fucking ugly…

i had already lost faith in the last of us show and i refused to watch season 2, but they somehow made it worse by casting a 15-year-old cis girl to play the character of lev - a 13-year-old trans boy.
i get if it is hard to find a talented asian trans boy actor and im glad at least they chose an asian actor. but if they had to cast a cis actor, why did they have to cast a cis girl?
i think there should be trans actors playing characters who don’t pass, but lev looks like a boy so he could have been portrayed by a cis boy.
adam from degrassi has a special place in my heart so ill always forgive that actor. but in 2026, do we really need to keep doing this?
i have heard plenty of trans people talking as if the only options for casting trans people are either trans actors, or cis actors of the opposite gender. i get the emphasis on wanting opportunities for trans actors, but if that isn’t happening either way, would most of you really prefer trans men to be played by cis women?
its not impossible for trans boys (especially <13 years old) to pass without hrt. plenty of trans men look like cis men so i don’t understand why trans characters have to “look trans”. i don’t think it would be unrealistic for a trans man to be portrayed by a cis man.
if anyone has recommendations of media with cis men playing trans men let me know because i would be keen to watch it. at this point, i would respect a production who wanted a cis man to play a trans man, because at least it means they actually see us as men.

I love the whole "I've been dating straight girls since high school and it never was an issue" because its the most "Trust me bro" argument one can make. With this user in particular, her profile shows that she is 31 years old and only started HRT for 11 years. So she started at 20 years old, but was stealth during her high school years? Unless the "straight girls" during her high school years were blind, theres no way those girls were straight if she was living stealth.

If the gender surgeons are reading this, I wonder if they smell the money to be made and are cooking up a new hand feminization surgery right now.
Honestly it wounds like the wedding was over budget and they have to cut their least favorite guests… understandable.

Sadly I think HRT is really pretty cheap for everyone involved except the trannies who take it; the surgeries are super expensive though
