I am not sure how much it matters, but I live and work in Portland. I work in a mental health adjacent field and no one I know near St. John's or anywhere in Portland has heard of a jumper recently. I am not saying this person didn't commit suicide, but nothing has been reported officially from the bridge. He could've been real low key about it so police didn't notice/show up, and bodies don't tend to come up until springtime when the water heats up so who knows - I work with a population of mentally unwell / spiritually afflicted people so we try to keep an ear or an eye out when there is a suicide or even an attempt, just in case it's one of ours, and I've heard nothing so far. Personally, my gut is telling me this is not real. The last attempt we heard about at St. John's, we were told that there is a crisis response team posted up there permanently, so it's also possible he is on a psychiatric hold (typically 48-72hrs) up at Unity.
