Probably because of the extreme measures BIID takes you down, major surgery to remove limbs is fucking crazy. I know mastectomies aren't a walk in the park but crippling yourself more directly impairs your life.

Based on responses to questions about BIID-specific sexual desires, subjects were assigned to the group with BIID-related sexual feelings (S-BIID; n = 57) or the group without such feelings (NS-BIID; n = 23).

Of the respondents, 71.3% endorsed S-BIID. Subjects with S-BIID were significantly more often men, religious, and of a homosexual identity compared with the NS-BIID group. Subjects with S-BIID also significantly more often reported a change in localization and/or intensity of their BIID feelings over time. Furthermore, 66.7% of subjects with S-BIID reported S-BIID as an additional motivation for body modification. Seven of the 57 subjects with S-BIID achieved their preferred body modification through (self)-amputation, whereas none of the subjects with NS-BIID did.

Someone on KF made a very lengthy post proving that BIID nothing more than a fetish in almost all cases. It was eye opening, I thought people with BIID were just poor mentally unwell people with some wires crossed in their brain, but nope, turns out most of them are perverted gay men with a sick and dangerous fetish. Wish I could find the post.

I didn’t transition to be brave. I didn’t do it to be revolutionary or edgy or to stake a claim in some cultural identity war. I transitioned because I’m a woman--and it took me 31 years of survival, denial, and bone-deep loneliness to finally admit that truth to myself.

That should’ve been enough.

But every time these arguments break out--about sissy culture, fetish posting, slang like “gock,” or who’s “respectable” enough to represent us--I feel the earth shift under me again. Like my quiet, personal truth gets buried under the noise of everyone trying to prove a point, build a brand, or perform some kind of identity rebellion. I feel erased again, but this time, by people who are supposed to be my community.

I don’t care what people call their genitals. But I do care about whether this space feels safe for people who are still figuring out who they are without having to wade through a battlefield of erotic content, in-jokes, and trauma responses masquerading as purity tests.

I didn’t come here to become a symbol. I’m not trying to expand or challenge womanhood. I just want to live my life without constantly being asked to prove why I belong.

What’s happening here isn’t about language. It’s about power, and fear, and who gets to define what counts as “valid.” I’ve watched this place tilt back and forth between oppressive respectability politics and chaotic overexposure, and somehow both sides still manage to make women like me feel unwelcome. Either we’re not trans enough because we don’t engage with the culture, or we’re bigots because we want boundaries.

I’m tired of being told that neutrality is complicity, or that asking for space to exist without constant hypersexual framing is some kind of oppression. I don’t want to see the community fracture--but if it does, it won’t be because someone asked for decency. It’ll be because too many people decided that screaming louder mattered more than understanding.

I’m not here to gatekeep. But I’m also not here to watch this space burn itself down in a performative tug-of-war over who gets to be the main character.

I just want to be a woman. I want to laugh with my kids. I want to wear what makes me feel alive. I want to stop being haunted by the man I pretended to be. I want to live. That’s all. And if this community can’t hold space for that? Then it’s not a community worth clinging to.

I don't know what all this drama on the sub is about but this was very nice to read. I think this subreddit can be toxic, disregarding whatever drama is going on because I don't know it. There are a lot of different voices and it's easy to stumble on the wrong thing. I think it's because it's quite large, and invite quite a range of personalities.

Maybe you should take a little break from this place? I tend to avoid it nowadays, as I find it quite sad. I think most people would benefit from leaving their online spaces for a bit. I don't know I'm rambling, I guess I just wanted you to know I read your post. Have a good day. 🤷‍♀️💚

There's usually a paraphilia aspect -- as evidenced by the existence of disability fetish groups -- but what's really strange is the genuine intense distress BIIDhavers experience during childhood. How does that manifest during the pre-sexual stage? Why does the disorder overwhelmingly affect gay men (& which one of those things leads to the other)?

I dunno. Shit's weird

If you do some digging, you will come to notice that there is a subset of gay men that are into extreme body mod fetishes, and they make up the majority of the people who have these paraphilias. From extreme body and genital piercings, to burning and branding, to kicking and stomping on genitals, BIID, and all the way up cutting off their perfectly functioning dicks (nullo). Of course we aren't allowed to discuss why these certain gay men make up the majority of these "kinks" or what happened to them as children.

Yes. They don't have as many branches open as in the old days but there are still some. However I think these guidelines apply mostly to employee toilets though, in offices - who goes to the toilet in their bank?

The latest institution to take into account the recent High Court judgement here is the Football Association, the body that oversees all Association Football (that's "soccer" to you Americans) in the UK, both professional and amateur.

It is hilarious how they react to each domino falling with the same cry of "bigots"! They simply cannot fathom 1) that institutions obey the rules passed down to them now that they are against them just like they did when it went in the opposite direction. No thinking was ever applied one way or the other and 2) that everyone they insult now gets peak-transed.

In other considerations, I suspect the "specially selected therapists" will need therapists of their own pretty soon as any attempt to make them accept the decision will be met with shrieks of "CONVERSION THERAPYYYYY!!!!"
