A new behavior I've notice in the community is when someone does the "What is a woman" line, they'll reply with "Someone who covers their drink when you walk in" Kinda cute. But i can't help but notice that even in their zings, they don't seem willing to share the approved definition for women.

It's amazing to me how many lefty people I know who are secretly peaked but just hide it. We'll be in a one-on-one conversation and I'll tentatively put forward the most gentle softball critique of trans ideology, one that's easy to refute or walk back. Some people will seem uncomfortable and so I'll move on to more neutral topics, but a HUGE number will get a spark of hope in their eye as soon as they realize I'm not going to crucify them for wrongthink. They then let loose with a huge torrent of transphobic grievances that they've never been able to admit to their other friends. It's equal parts funny and heartbreaking.

OMFG the feigned ignorance. "Trans people in sports/bathrooms" is always about transwomen because transwomen are men and they pose a threat to women. It's asymmetrical because the sexes are different.

It's quite obvious that a lot of people's hostility towards fetishes and kinks comes from the vast underestimation of the ability of the sentient human brain to distinguish between reality and fiction. There's more to it of course as implied, not any more well justified mind you, but people's grievences do tend to heavily rely on some pseudopsychological understanding of the human brain being stupider than it actually is.

And honestly, a lot of it also has to do with the rape culture belief of the human temptation into rape that takes away one's agency and ability to make decisions based on ethics and such for some nebulous pseudoscience biology that there's a scary demon in people's heads, a very scientific biological demon for realsies, that makes people go around raping and molesting others. It is often heavily influenced by christianity even if a more secular explanation of so called science takes hold these days, and is far worse of a thing to promote, spread, whatever than whatever the hell fictional thing anyone is doing and or jacking off to.

And I must say or mention that not even I have been fully immune to this despite my background of being kinky and having many fetishes masturbating multiple times a day as early as half my age. I didn't have too much or nearly as much to unlearn as others due to being "exposed" to so much at an early age and thus having much of my potential to be reactionary about such things written out of me, but I was somewhat silly about at least a thing or two that I'm not anymore, so I'm not trying to grand stand here. You need to actively learn and investigate what you're being reactionary about in order to unlearn it. It's easy to justify and make exceptions to things you shouldn't be, and it's good to figure out what is and isn't harming others, because it's very easy to assume things based on one's preconceived notions and common background knowledge that can very easily be wrong. Is that roleplay or hentai thing really some kind of serious issue that's totally an act of or going to turn you into a rapist or something somehow prone to harming others or are you just bugging out?
