One of the commonly recommended methods that apparently involves little to no pain is to wear a gas mask and hook it up to a tank of pure helium. That's quite an interesting statistic. Based off the 2021 UK census:

93.5% of respondents said their gender identity and their sex registered at birth were the same. Around 262,000 people (0.5%) said their gender identity and sex registered at birth were different. Not all of those 262,000 people identified explicitly as transgender. Around 48,000 people (0.1%) gave their identity as ‘trans man’ and another 48,000 (0.1%) gave their identity as ‘trans woman’. 118,000 (0.2%) did not provide a write-in response. A further 30,000 identified as non-binary and 18,000 wrote in a different gender identity.

Between 0.25-0.5% seem to be trans (there was a big issue with ESL people not understanding the question).
The 2021 Canadian census seems to have it as 0.33%.
But the figure for the USA I see getting kicked around is 1.6%. Are there more trans people in America? Is it dodgy data gathering? Or are there just more monied interests looking at inflating the number?

I can’t speak for the US. All I know is I live in a city considered 1 of the 5 friendliest in Canada towards trannies but they still don’t fare that well here.

A big advantage Americans would have is that while our respective cultures are different, adapting is not as complicated as it would be for someone from a third world country.

As a country we’ve joined a small group of nations whose birth rate is way below replacement levels. So we massively increased the number of immigrants coming in but went too far, too fast and the federal govt. is definitely feeling the heat.

I doubt our government has an official stance on troon immigration applicants but I doubt they’re looked on favourably.

I am a closeted trans woman from Pakistan, currently in medical school. I am preparing for USMLE step 1 and planning to move either to the UK or the USA after graduation. My goals are to transition fully, start my medical career and explore dating opportunities. Which country would be better for transitioning and dating as a trans woman? While I know the US has better career prospects for doctors, I am concerned about the current situation for trans people, especially with the lack of social safety nets. Any advice or experiences would be really helpful.
