agreeing and now i can't stop thinking abt it.
like i'm just doing what's most comfortable for me, im not
making fun of or mocking anyone. i'm literally just trying to
exist in a way that feels comfortable. and i understand it
takes SO much ignorance to think that we're mocking or
making fun of cis women but idk it's transphobia like that,
that actually upsets me for some reason. and anytime a
woman is transphobic it always hurts more, even if they
say the exact same shit that men do, it always hurts more

So many L's here to unpack. First, I had to look up was on earth RSD was, never heard of it before and I'm as terminally online as the rest of us. Apparently it stands for Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria: "Rejection sensitive dysphoria (RSD) is when you experience severe emotional pain because of a failure or feeling rejected" per the Cleveland clinic. Great, another fake diagnosis for them all to start self-diagnosing with.

i was in her office explaining my current situation with homelessness and the general stress of being a trans woman in a red state during these times. things are just straight up fucking hard right now and i really needed to just vent to someone and she was who i just started dumping on. she told me that before she started working at the clinic i get hrt from, she had no idea how bad trans people have it.

she started to cry, and told me how much she loves me and cares about me and trans people. that her heart hurts for us and that she sees how beautiful and powerful we really are.

i started sobbing. i’ve never had a cis person ever give me this kind of validation or understanding, let alone have them cry for me. she gave me her number and told me to call her if i ever need anything, a place to stay, dinner, or even just to visit.

there really are good allies out there. it’s hard to feel or see sometimes, but there are people who will shed tears for us, who see what we go through, who humanize and love us.

it was a reminder i desperately needed

I doubt this person got the piercings and tattoos after becoming homeless, but I bet they got them when they knew that they were in a financially precarious situation. Wonder how much that all cost, and how long that sum could have kept the owner off the street if it had gone into the savings account instead?

I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if trans people are disproportionately bad with money, compared to the general population. Particularly since there's evidence that trans people are disproportionately likely to have a Cluster B personality disorder, and those types tend to be impulsive with their financial decisions.

Ironically, it's a plot twist that couldn't be made today. Thanks to trans visibility isn't just more sensitive to trans people, but more sensitive to what trans is, and what it is not. Most people know that there's no 'sex change' that can turn a man into 1994 Sean Young, and the plot twist is virtually impossible to pull off with an actual trans performer.
