Till now, 4 years after I have come out, he saves me as "Ray formaly know as deadname" and finally, a few days ago my therapist told me he asked her specifically not to write me as ray on a document. He asked her to write it "deadname (ray)". I confronted him today and he ignored me. I'm so tired of this. I hate that he just can't see me as who I want to be and litteraly who I am. Im not sure what will finally convince him I'm a man. After top surgery? After testosterone? He's the one person I crave validation from and he just doesn't understand that.

Yeah, I'd agree that in her case it would probably come with hysterics that are quite far from manly. He doesn't sound like he's on the verge of kicking her out or disowning her or whatever, so her disowning him would be a childish "fuck you." Trans communities just reframe it as "ridding yourself of toxicity." Crazy how everyone who disagrees with you is coincidentally toxic.

I guess I just mean it in the sense that if you come to an impasse, then skip the feet stamping and demands when you're (presumably) living under his roof. If the state of affairs is intolerable, then go. Get some distance. In the best of cases it would give some much needed perspective and she'd see what he is trying to do for her, and appreciate the way that he seems to care enough to try to gently correct her. But independent living for someone like this (who is already considering top surgery as a coercive measure) seems more likely to just accelerate the spiral of delusion.
