It's debated. Some women will wash after every wear because dirty bras are disgusting, but others say that washing too often destroys a bra, which is also true. The solution is to put the bra in a mesh bag made specially for that purpose and then run it through the wash in the bag.

Also, it takes longer than you imagine for it to get dirty. Women’s sweat has less oil than men’s, which means it takes longer for our clothes to start smelling. Men’s skin has four times more sebum than women’s. A man probably ought to wash his bra every day, but women honestly don’t need to. The reality is that most women go several days between washes for regular bras, because even with the washing bags and the gentle program, washing machines destroy them. Sports bras and bralettes you can wash more often, and of course should after every gym session or other thing that worked up a sweat.

Yeah, I was about to say: Woman’s sweat is less potent, so I could see that you don’t need to wash after EVERY use.

Bra sperging?:

A bralette is kind of like a bra with less structure to it. No uncomfortable wires/cups. Almost like a tube top. I associate them not necessarily with children but women with tiny breasts who don’t even need to wear a bra. They’re worn more for modesty than support, I think? Idk what troons get out of wearing them. I feel like skinny, trendy girls often wear bralettes so maybe that’s what troons are aiming for. Just like how troons love to show mid drift.

The stuff about bras being bad for you comes from, afaik, one French study that was debunked.

Also I wash bras after every wear. When I was younger and had fancier stuff I would just wash in sink w/ gentle detergent to get around the damage.

with regards to it being healthier not to wear a bra, I can believe it. Lightly binding your breasts or constantly holding them up does seem like it would destroy muscle tone. As for why to wear a bra: hard nips poking through shirts are unladylike and draw unwanted attention, also because of the shape it gives that helps clothes look more put together. The lift and coverage of an undergarment can completely change the silhouette and the way an outfit lays on your body. There are t shirt bras, push-up bras, etc a bra for every occasion. A good bra can make the difference between looking sloppy and put together.

It's kinda painful. Sure, bras are not the most comfortable thing in the world too, but for me it's better than the alternative.

Also, it's socially unacceptable to not tie down your boobs, bouncing may be sexy to fifteen year old males, but it will draw ridicule from everyone else. Nipple chafing is another issue that can arise, as can giving yourself a black eye if you are excessively endowed and move too fast.

And sometimes boobs are just heavy and the bra taking the weight is more comfortable than leaving the wretched things to dangle.

It's a bra for small boobs. They don't have underwire and are lightly supportive, so they're comfortable for lounging and everyday wear. For women with bigger breasts, they don't provide sufficient support and can be uncomfortable.

I have always believed this. I’ve never worn a bra, and consequently they’re such a round shape that no one has ever noticed I’m not.

Sports bras just feel like my boobs are being strangled while also still doing micro bounces. I just wear a halter neck bikini under my clothes for riding a bike, and nothing is necessary for any other exercise.

Bras are also said to contribute to mastitis in breastfeeding women.

But they are necessary for women with bigger or saggy boobs.

There’s been some bras that are better designed and kind of support the breasts as if they’re being held by hands. Also, in the olden days, corsets provided more support as the weight was distributed over the whole torso rather than round a small band.
