Lol I just got a text from one of my workers since making this post. He told me he was “filling” sick. One time he told me that his girlfriend was in “Minna Soda.” It’s endemic.
That’s it, I’m reading to my future children every night and when they’re old enough sitting with them in bed while they learn to read. Being illiterate in a first world country is so fucked up. No wonder antiwork is so popular, these literal retards are unemployable and it’s their own fault.

new "stochastic terrorism" just dropped (link/archive)

Because the “trans” epidemic is adults/teens who were raised on videos. And I’m not just talking about TikTok and instagram reels. I’ve thought a lot about this because I have zoomer children and I employ mostly zoomers in the business I own. I get to see it first hand. Back in the early 2000’s videos were this cool new thing so teachers started implementing them in the classroom. That made the teachers really lazy and videos became the primary source of information. Now the kids are so addicted to their phones giving a reading assignment insures an 80%+ fail rate. These kids are being raised by spoken word alone, so their reading and writing skills are on par with a 3rd world country. If you want evidence of this, watch any of the videos Justin Awad posts on YouTube and TikTok. And those kids aren’t faking it. I’ve asked the same questions to zoomer kids in my life. Very few of them know the answers.
New Justin Awad just dropped. These aren’t staged.

I spent a lot of time working in public education. Under no circumstances should you put your kid into public school or give them a phone or iPad before they're 18. The generations coming up have been completely destroyed by technology. They have zero critical thinking skills. They only regurgitate things they read online to you. If you ask them "what do you think about X?" you will get an answer sure, but if you press them and ask "well WHY do you believe that?" they'll go completely silent and look uncomfortable. Occasionally you'll get one that will own up to it and respond "well that's what the people I like online say." Creativity is dead. If you ask them to write you a story, almost all the responses will be fanfiction of established media properties. Our future is terrifying.

You have to wonder what was in the deleted comment.
Nothing like a troon being laughed at by a kid to start the day with. Imagine being in your 20s, you pulled a muscle because you're an obese, sedentary NEET and some kid comes up to you and calls you a faggot.

Kids aren't mean, kids have no filter and they'll always give you the unsweetened truth. It's learned behaviour to tell white lies.

And then go one step further and imagine still seething about it well into your 30s. Truly the most bitter, miserable people to ever exist.

Devil's advocate here, but maybe he's texting from his car? IMO I usually write quite well, but when I use the text to speech messaging in my car the results look like the product of an illiterate ape. Same whenever I've let Siri reply to a text for me, which is why I don't do that any more, but ofc it's unsafe to text while driving so I don't have a choice there.

I corrected him and he thanked me.

Well that’s decent of him anyway.
It’s funny but there’s two different types of this kind of mistake:
1. People who spell badly becasue they’ve never seen the word written down and only heard it said. This is where your tow the lines come from.
2. People who pronounce a word wrongly becasue they’ve only ever seen it in a book and never heard anyone use it.
I think I pronounced words like segue, mores, etc wrong for a good while as a kid. Seen it written but had never heard anyone use it.
People who read a lot spell better simply because they’ve seen the word a lot more.

Fun fact: the Dunning-Kruger effect comes from a study of incompetence using spelling tests. Poor spellers grossly overrated their competence, while good spellers thought their own skills were average. Only exposure to the grim truth corrected these false consciousnesses.

And yeah, good readers are usually good spellers - and often good writers too. I am constantly depressed by people who fancy their chances at writing, yet never read anything longer than an Instagram post. If you don’t know how it works, you can’t build one of your own.
