Mr Muerte's talk inadvertently just gives further evidence to the autism->troonism pipeline theory. He's one of those tism-riddled speakers who try to crack jokes and engage the audience, but just come across as desperate try-hards. No wonder he doesn't have the self-awareness to realise no one thinks he's a woman.
The thing is, that sort of showboating could work, even in a conference speaking situation, provided the speaker knew their audience, was known by their audience, and already had enough academic social capital to pull off such a stupid move and make it funny instead of embarrassing – and it would need to be relevant to the talk, somehow (speaking here with regard to a particular field I know well, may not apply to all!).
Mr Muerte, however, clearly has no social capital, has no connection with his audience, and is also a big dumb retarded troon. Those gimmicks will never work in his hands.

Many people have at least a passing familiarity with the Victorian era fashion, whether from film or family photos or historical research (120 to 180 years of history pressing down on us after all). Even if they don't want to consciously admit it, their lizard brains will recognise a male body in those clothes, and they'll get that awkward feeling of their subconscious saying "syntax error".

Troons freaking out that Congress may pay a bill that the tranny congressperson will not be able to use the women’s bathroom. In a way: I kind of don’t want this to pass so that democrat women can be subjected to a tranny and suffer, although the Republican women don’t deserve that.
