I kind of want to do a Lets Play for the Forum for it and it wouldn't be as fun without everyone
Something I considered but I also realized how I'd either need to make a lot of recordings or take a squintillion screenshots to run it. Rather not start an LP then not finish it, but if someone was to I'd for sure want to follow along.

I made a joke about..Ethan Ralph being the real world version of Greasius Gold Tooth..and was considering doing an Immortal empires playthrough as him..RPing as GuntTooth.

Edit: And having Lolcows as other empire leaders.

The Slaaneshi factions are more or less ripe to be filled with the many, many troons and Ratking types as well. Though they can pass better despite it all.

yeah it seems like it would be a fun time for all a year from now after I buy everything piece meal

My suggestion is pick up Warhammer 2 and try that out if you haven't. Warhammer 1 races are fairly enjoyable now as well but starting with that will leave you with a notably smaller experience. Pick up the races or other games when they're on sale (which is fairly often for older stuff).

Sadly there's so much stuff out now that saying 'Oh focus on one race in particular you like' still can encompass 3+ DLCs. Especially if you prefer one of the Warhammer 1 races. Though mods are fantastic and free on the workshop so you can get a very polished and content rich experience with the older games.

The nations don't spawn unless you have the DLC do they?

So Tomb Kings got a slight update to them besides Lord Starting Army changes. The Tomb Scorpion and Ushabti buildings went down a level, Scorps are Tier 3 now instead of 4 and Ushabti/Bows are Tier 2/3 instead of 3/4. This opens up a lot of options now but a Tomb King mainstay aka the Screaming Skull Catapult is still stuck in a tier 3 chariot building with crap capacity.

I'm honestly worried that the TKs are going to get wiped every single time on the map right now. They were already weak in the AI's hands but now they've got very aggressive major factions nearby that can win out easily in the early stages. With a few strong units being lowered in difficulty to acquire it may help a smidge. Their early game is still piss weak though.

My only hope is that CA will eventually remove Denushit from this otherwise promising game.

Yea not sure why they made changes to Settra's starting army. Losing the Sphinx seems like a net loss considering the area enemies and all you get is two Archers, a Halberd Guard and 2 Archer chariots. But the ability to make a lot of scorpions/Ushabti bows earlier now may offset that.

Edit: Khatep lost his Hierotitan as well and got Necro Knights and horsemen at least. Khalida got lots of range with her starting army, Screaming Catapult, Ushabti Bows, Archer unit and Horse Archers.
Edit2; Taurox lost his Ghorgon in his starting army...see a pattern forming here....
Edit 3: Wurzzag lost his Giant and got some Savage Big'uns but Skarsnik got to keep his Arachnarok Spider.

Does it fix performance issues? For some reason TW3 runs like absolute trash (and is borderline unplayable) whilst TW2 was a regular 40fps on ultra unit size unless I was skelly spamming.
Been playing for about 6 hours now and performance is still crap on my rig at 1080p(easant). Had a big siege battle at Middenheim and the framerate slowed to a crawl, due to the many units on screen. I've also experienced that the game just freezes for a few seconds; this has happened once or twice.

Turn of shadows of you haven't already.

I just started a Karl Franz campaign, and found it to be bedlam. The Vampires have calmed down, but now I have beastmen, and Festus wrecking shit close to home. So far...pretty fun
Yeah, there's no real breathing space now. Second you deal with the secessionists it's game on. I ended up by turn 25 having festus dismantling the two Tals, khazrak doing the same in middenheim and Grom about to push in from the south after clearing Carcassonne and paravon and being at war with all three

The only territory I've managed to grab is nuln because they rebelled and fort bergbres because Grom took it first. Haven't had time to take out the damn marienburg traitors but bretonia is getting trouble from Grom too so they haven't snaffled it yet either

They've tweaked growth which I like, altdorf doesn't feel like a chore to get up the levels.

Not sure I like the simplified missions for legendary items but maybe they're place holders for the beta. Or this lark of getting thrown a hero every few turns. I've managed to collect a set of one each without actually purchasing a single one. And the wizard was a light one instead of the fire one from the bloodpine mission which has been removed

Cavalry feels fanfuckingtastic again thank God

Bearing in mind I'm playing on a 6yo laptop so not ultra units or anything but it's running about as well as ME did. Turns are a bit longer but 30 seconds tops, for reference turns in the base Chaos rifts campaign were about twice that so they've definitely done some optimization. Bit choppy in large battles but that's par for how ME ran.
