Still a few months away probably, the sad part is if they just released Total Warhammer 3 with no campaign other than kill each and spent all that time on Immortal Empires to be released at launch. The game would have a shitload less complaints probably.
CA really loves their gimmick campaigns, sadly.

The roadmap is here: https://www.totalwar.com/blog/twwh3-roadmap-2022/

Judging by the twitter thread, fans are less than happy:story:

There has to be something going on with the team in charge of Total War Warhammer for the delays in updates and content. Is it now a skeleton crew? Have they been forced to work on multiple projects?

Whatever it is just uninstalled the game and will come back in a year or two. This is just painful, almost like a different team from the first two games is on 3.

I believe that’s the case. Bit of a PL, but I’ve learned through my experiences how essential it is to have continuity with teams on long term projects.

When someone leaves, you have to take more time training the next person. Training includes the standard processes of the work, information on what you are doing, and crucially the informal practices of the team’s dynamics.

If a whole team leaves, the whole product changes. I can see why Immortal Empires is going to take a while because of the new team. They don’t have the years of experience with developing the 14 other factions and all of their legendary lords.

In comparison, SFO will probably be able to create their IE mod before IE comes out of beta because that team has experience with all of the factions since the beginning.

I want intestines on Nurgle bois. :optimistic:
I want my blood and I want my Immortal Empires so I can go introduce Cathay to some Great Cannons and Handgunners when they refuse to buy opium Karl Franz's 100% All-Natural Painkiller from me.
Prior to release, I read a few bullshit articles about how Cathay is superior to the Empire in every conceivable way, and it REALLY made me want to stomp Cathay with Franz. And I've never even played a full Empire campaign before.

The Immortal Empires Campaign taking a while is one thing, the fucking blood DLC not arriving until summer/fall is fucking astounding in it's ineptitude. Given the content of the base game at launch, the blood and gore should have been in there from the fucking start.

I feel the same. It's insane how badly CA is when it comes to launches. I though the past launches were bad like Empire and Rome II but this one takes the cake.

I'm sticking to WH2 and doing mortal empires there for now.
I can and will continue to simp for empire. Compared to WH3, at least it had immense scope and absolutely great naval battles.

As much as I have enjoyed the Warhammer games, I'd really like if CA went all in on a major historical without single units shitting up the battlefield. Empire 2 or Medieval 3 with the more advanced diplomatic options of 3k would be great.

It's really pathetic that WH2 has consistently more players that WH3. There are just so many problems with 3. From little things like removing the Knowledgeable trait and replacing it with something useless, to huge things like the campaign sucking ass and the chaos rift mechanic. Even if you conquer the entire map the rifts still pop up. A massive fuck you to whoever came up with that idea.

It's also pathetic that in 3 months post release the only new thing that is going to be added to the game is a few Regiments of Renown, whoopee. If the numbers are so bad now, wait another 5 months. Yes Immortal Empires will bring a lot of people back, me included to play my fave WH2 Legendary Lords....but there's just so many shit core gameplay elements that idk how fun even the new combined map will be.

For certain, this roadmap just proves how much time this game still needed for development. It was released way too early, and they fucking blew it. What a shame. Hopefully they can make a decent game out of it eventually. But yeah, if you waited to buy the game, you made a smart decision. I definitely wish I had waited for Immortal Empires to buy.

Game was released at least two quarters too early.

IE should have been nearly good to go on release. We waited all of... A quarter, less than I think, for ME.

Same with blood. Retarded that that wasn't ready to go from day 1 anyway, considering khorne was a marquee of the advertising.

Also maybe I'm missing something. I'm not seeing a race pack in that rundown. I will be pissed if I don't get my evil racist bull centaur dwarfs this year.

Edit: honestly I'm more disappointed in myself than in CA. I should have fucking known not to consoom and just wait but I was breddy psyched for fantasy bugmen
