The amount of CA apologist copium going on the subreddit today is hilarious. CA could shit on a plate, sell it for 60$ and people would still defend it.

Side rant: Overall I found 3 to be pretty disappointing. The best way I can describe it is exhausting and frustrating. The bugs make it not fun to play and the constant siege battles get to you after a while. Fix the fucking autoresolve at least so I don't have to fight them.

This is my first Warhammer TW, I liked the historical ones but the last one I played properly was Medieval 2. Wanted to play the more recent games but I wasn't sure my PC was good enough and I was q console fag anyway so never bothered. Anyway I now have a beast computer and I got this on the Xbox game pass. Impressions are okay so far, I'm still doing the prologue and it's been helpful and fun. I've had a couple of bugs where I've skipped dialogue and couldn't continue until I reloaded and listened to the entire thing and sometimes units just refuse to fight? They'll just pile in and stand there, it's weird.

Anyway, after I finish the prologue should I just get Warhammer 2 and play that until they fix this one?

Define "Should I just get Warhammer 2".

How that one fucking thread saying Warhammer 1 was better vs release Warhammer 2 got 1.2K upvotes I'll never know. That is just a fucking blatant lie. Unsurprisingly made by a transgendered autist who plays yugioh.

3 needs a lot of work, which is really pathetic considering they took way longer to make it than 2. The Soul campaign stuff is so shit. I've never had less fun playing a TW game than going through Tzeentchs realm. Is it thematically appropriate? Yes. but is it fun? God fucking no.

Shit, I had a bug where I skipped the opening cutscene and monologues and my game literally made my end turn button unclickable and I couldn't move Greasus at all. I don't even see mention of that anywhere.

Tech trees are generally terrible (Except Khorne and Ogres), there's bugs that are making certain factions completely shit (Chariat bug stuff is fucking Slaanesh rn), supply line bugs are dicking over Kislev pretty hard and this vaunted siege rework sucks too. Yay, I wanted a settlement siege with the crappy siege mechanics in this game for every fucking settlement.

I don't know what it is but literally anything related to Warhammer seems to have the most eager bootlickers. is TW similar? Was that sub in full swing when Rome 2 came out? Because if anyone bootlicked that game on release, they're mentally retarded. I fucking hate that there's always people that try to downplay bugs because they aren't effecting them.

I remember how Warhammer 1 and 2 both were at release. Both were pretty bare bones and have had massive improvements. I have the same complaints about the tech trees, and the bugs, and character development/special abilities. Basically, I remember how 1 and 2 started out and how they ended up and I'm comfortable in saying that both free and pay DLC over the next year will cover most of the glaring issues and we'll end up with a solid game.

Is Warhammer 2 in a better enough state bug-wise and is there enough content (factions, campaigns etc) that make it worth buying rather than just waiting for more fixes and factions to be added to Warhammer 3?

Yes, especially if you have both 1 and 2 so you can play Mortal Empires.

Base game maybe. Core WH2 is sort of like what WH3 is but less bugs. A few of the factions were missing their mainstay tabletop counterparts that eventually got added in DLC. If you end up not being a fan of the Vortex campaign all the DLC races/Legendary Lords that are not a base game race can still play in the Vortex Map but have their own objectives outside the Vortex. So its like playing on a smaller map with a more refined campaign objective. WH2 does have Mortal Empires while WH3 is still waiting on that.

Edit: On another note to fix the Supply Bug DON'T disband your Lords, DO go get them killed in battle if you want to get rid of them. If they die it changes the supply unlike disbanding.

Go for it. I was never really a total war fan but really enjoyed 2 once I got the hang of it. In terms of the races included in the base vortex campaign, you have the high elves, dark elves, lizardmen and skaven, each with various factions of their own, but there are other races available with dlc, with their own campaigns to boot.

The Vortex 'race' in TW2 is a bit of a misnomer - if any AI side triggers the final battle you get to teleport an army to stop them along with the other two races and if that AI side loses they are effectively out of the Vortex race. There's literally no rush at all required, unlike what I hear about WH3 (Linux release now just states "early spring" what the fuck is that.)

Warhammer fans are some of the most battered fandoms there is. Despite the IP going down the shitter for decades they will desperately grasp at any content. Not to mention the reddit will excuse and praise literally anything its utter cancer.

Its especially egregious the state this released in if whats your saying its true. All these niggers need to do is to copy medieval 2 with a skin pack to make a good game but somehow they manage to fuck up releases like reversing charge bonuses for cav on rome 2 releases. Are their only devs dangerhairs now?

Get Shogun 2 with Fall of the Samurai instead

Fuck man. This game is a bare bones shitfest. I am fucking bored.

Is the new domination mode the only quick battle mode right now? Because that would be omega retarded. I actually really enjoyed the quick battles in 1 and 2 but if you can only play the new mode I don't think I'm going to touch multiplayer much in 3.

I wish Kislev had more artillery. I'm a very artillery-intensive kind of player, I love putting 6 rocket launchers in an army occasionally and watching all of the pretty explosions.
A bit late, but that's ironic since in true Russian style the more modernized parts of Kislev are so gunpowder-happy even Karl Franz is wondering what's up. The Kislev port city of Erengrad is the only place in the Old World you can show up with a chest of gold or two and walk out the same day with cannon that are sitting stored in inventory as opposed to being made to order like in Nuln.
To quote from the Fandom page:
The city of Erengrad is one of the few places outside of Nuln in the Old World where cannons are manufactured. The Sea of Claws is possibly the most dangerous stretch of water anywhere, and ships need good defences against raiders, both Human and otherwise. As a result, a strong demand has always existed for ship-based weapons, and the first Erengrad cannon was cast over two centuries ago.

The Cannoneers’ Guild has prospered since then and is closely affiliated with the Shipwrights Guild. Erengrad cannons are not up to the standard of those made in Nuln, but they are substantially cheaper and lighter, which makes them better suited to ships. And most captains would rather have two Erengrad cannons than one Nulner. The steady demand means this compound is possibly the only place in the Old World where someone with enough money (typically 1000 gc) can walk in, put down the money, and leave with a cannon. A known ship’s captain could actually do that; anyone else would meet with delays, while the guild tried to figure out what the cannon was wanted for. A few mercenary companies use Erengrad cannons on land, however.
"We may not have as much steel as the Empire, but I think we have enough faith and gunpowder to make up for it, tovarisch."

I never felt like there was any rush with TW2s Vortex stuff. All the major factions have like 4 rituals to get through and sending an interference force to ruin everything is easy fucking peasy. Especially since it only costs 10K to send the best force possible and if you're someone like Tyrion, you have far more than that banked easily. Even easier come late game when you've solidified your territory.

But the thing about TW2 is the wait for Mortal Empires was pretty brief. So if you hated vortex, you only had to wait like a month I think it was before you got your fun sandbox mode. Who the hell knows when Immortal Empires is coming.

It's fucked isn't it? Like I had to bail on the main Warhammer and 40k subs because of the sheer amount of fucking bootlicking for GW. They kill fan content, jack prices of their shit and make stupid decisions almost constantly. Why we stan GW is beyond me and I'm someone that fucking loves Warhammer. 40k, Fantasy Battle and AOS. It's all pretty cool to me.

Im beginning to remember why I quit the Total War sub too but at least there's still some people there willing to shit on CA for bad decision making. I desperately hope that sub wasn't this fucking stupid when Rome 2 came out.

My biggest complaint about the game honestly is how often and how many of the chaos gates spawn in the campaign, you can't even build infrastructure before the first one pops up and you can't even build an army before the next set appears.

I assume that's why they made the ROC campaign so strict, 'cause goddamn the Vortex is nowhere near as on your ass about things. I didn't personally like the overall game plan but you had a lot of ways to play around it or just faceroll over it once you've expanded enough.

If you don't push hard on the realms you're up a creek 'cause the AI will drop whatever its doing to go for it. Even if they're near total destruction.

Your Heroes can close them without a fight so your freebie one could be used to go around and close them for 1500 a pop. Or a Lord can for free but has to fight to close it, but you get XP and things that route.

Edit: Also if you playing Chaos you may want to just keep them open for the Corruption if it matches your faction, or province for undivided.

I just finished the prologue earlier. It was fun; but I have a few thoughts and some complaints:

1. The new minor settlement battles are nice; but have a few issues. Specifically, the settlement that's set up in a sort of eight-pointed star shape(lol chaos, I know). Said settlement has only four specific narrow entry points and has plenty of stuff inside that settlement; making any sort of movement and fighting there a boring slog. Especially when you remember all the defenses the defenders can lay down with the new supply system.

2. The Tzeentch faction is fucking broken(meaning that they are OP as fuck). Those obnoxious forcefields need a fucking nerf.

3. Autoresolve continues to be a joke. You either get results that are far too optimistic compared to playing out the battle yourself; or far too pessimistic occasionally.

4. Kislev gets a single artillery recruitment building WAAAYYYY too late in the building tree. On top of that, they should get mortars too; not just a single cannon IIRC.

5. AI recruitment still produces annoying and stupid army compositions by default. The norscan stack with some ten fucking javelin units; and the Khorne stack with just a general and 19 goddamn bloodletters being perfect examples of this shit.

Finally, with regards to the plot:
Poor Yuri, even though I saw the outcome of the prologue campaign coming fairly early on; his fate is still a sad and miserable one. Being a Daemon Prince and bitch of all four of the Chaos Gods is a wretched and pathetic existence.

Gotta save stuff for DLC, just not sure what's left for the Chaos/Cathay factions as far as that goes. Ogres still got the Cold boys and the Icehorn available.
