Tortillas keep longer than bread before going stale. You only need to use one for a taco/burrito; sandwiches require two slices of bread. Unlike cheap bread, cheap tortillas aren't loaded with sugar. You can put basically anything you want in a burrito, even stuff that's too sloppy for a sandwich. And the price per taco/burrito is less than the price per sandwich.

Seriously, why does anyone even buy bread at this point? Anything bread can do, tortillas do better.

I think tortillas are better then bread. But bread does have its place.
You going to make some delicious French toast with your tortilla?
And like what about cakes, and fancy bread like banana bread or muffins, those are all bread?

But tortillas beat out plain white bread most of the time, especially some fresh homemade ones.

Carbohydrates are like dairy products. They're objects of sin, for sinners, and fat people. They are fat because they are so full of sin, and so full of carbohydrates.

Tortillas are perhaps superior because they have less mass than bread, so if you were being held captive and were forced to eat one or the other to save your life (Islam says it's ok to eat something haram if it's to save your life) you'd be better off with the tortilla, however a truly saved person shuns all processed carbs equally.

Personally, it depends on the filling. There are some things I'd prefer bread for like lunch meat or hotdogs.

I rarely have bread in my house but always have tortillas. This is partly because when I do get bread I tear whole chunks off and eat it as-is because it is amazing. A $5 loaf of sourdough will last me 2 days at most so it's just not worth it, where as $5 worth of tortillas will last me weeks. Tortillas are good but the best bread is better than the best tortilla.

Now sopapillas and fry bread are like cheating tortillas. They're too good.

This is a tortilla.
