Well, it's Summer after a hurricane. Rainy season would've been brilliant, but it'd make open world combat a pain in the ass.

I thought they had moved on to their next game (Avatar) given how little they cared about The Division 2.

ubisoft usually sticks with their games. whatever you wanna say about them pump&dump isn't one of their tactics

No, it's still going strong. There was some drama when the Ubisoft earnings call went through, but people eventually realised "performed under our executive's expectations" is different to "game sold well and is objectively more active than the original at the same point in its life".

at this point div1 was still an utter shitshow and only recovered somewhat with 1.6 and the lead up to div2. division 2 doesn't even have that, it was embarrassingly mediocre if not outright bad in the aspects that matter the most, like loot and progression. however it was never technically or in genereal as terribad as div1 so people couldn't bothered to hate the sequel. it's just "there".

loot 2.0 will just add more shit that is fun for a bit then you wonder why you even bother when all it does is make numbers go higher with hardly any difference in gameplay or content, because if it does massive will just nerf it into the ground.

See the Far Cry 5 DLCs or GR Breakpoint (the game failed, full of bugs, no Christmas event, Terminator event released 2 months later).

FC5 wasn't a "live" game, it would make more sense to compare it to steep or the crew. heck sticking with siege paid off quite well I'd wager.

breakpoint is only 4 months old. look at division 2 and how it took them close to a year to turn it into destiny 2 (not even EA wants you to pay for expansion + 3 month "season" pass each, until they shit out the next expansion, for a full price game.).
the only question is if this a company mandated change inevitable making it's way into all their games or massive being tards as usual.

I know, but the season pass was a scam. The DLCs got worse and worse, the final one was just made out of prefabs from the multiplayer mode. I think that the Singapore branch was in charge of the post-launch support and they really didn't know what to do.

Ubisoft bad.

Move on pls
If you like the game then good for you. No one is telling you to stop playing The Division.

can't be worse than the year 1 pass for division 2, least you got something out of it I guess. imagine being the kind of sucker who bought the ultimate for full price at launch (I didn't but enough people on the forum are butthurt about it). didn't know what they expected tho after massive lying right in people's faces regarding event keys.

42gb? That's like an entire new game. I hope it's worth it.

Honestly, I'll be impressed if youll be allowed to go trough the entire city and even visit the old Dark Zone to hunt for loot there and do PVP shit.

It's an entirely new section of NYC, west of the Brooklyn Bridge. Even the Cleaners and Rikers are completely redesigned; they havent just slapped Div 1 assets into the game.

Download was about 20GB on PS4.

Got the game and holy shit it is fun
İ dont know how to explain it it just clicked with me
but the game stutters while sprinting under dx12 and crashes . İf there is a way to fix it i will be grateful

Switch from DX12 to like Vulkan or something, RDR2 has the same issue when you try to run the game with DX12.

I got the division 2 free with a video card, played the absolute shit out of it for a month, got burnt out on post game looting, and almost literally never thought about it again.

Is there anything worth coming back to?

the division is doing a destiny and going mobile too.
tests for US and BRHUEHUE have started but the game is shit, body type garbage and battle pass stuff, PVP and all.
feels like a modern mobile MMO which is basically gook-made formulaic shit, Destiny Rising has the same design too but with destiny gayness in it.

Oh they did talks about this for a while, like I think all the way back when Division 1 was done.

The new season for The Division 2 will add NPC companions.

COMPANIONS

The Division 2: Mutiny introduces the NPC Companions, a feature where you can recruit and command defected True Sons soldiers who now fight by your side. As a Squad Leader, you can guide your Companion through combat by ordering them to reposition, focus targets, support the team or activate special abilities through the Command Link Global Modifier.

The system is tightly connected to the season’s Modifiers, which shape how you and your Companion work together. Each Companion functions as an Active Modifier that you equip, and every Archetype brings its own set of abilities you can command in combat. Passive Modifiers strengthen your teamwork. Hostile Modifiers introduce enemy behaviors designed to disrupt that coordination.
(article from the Steam page)

A shame that it's tied to the Modifiers, that means they will get rid of it next season.

Bumping the thread since they have added a "realism" mode to The Division 2. It only allows you to play the Warlords of New York expansion. I guess they couldn't be bothered to retool the boss fights for the main campaign.
Have you tried it?
I like it so far but I wish I could see the ammo count on the HUD, and they have made the reload animation of the sniper rifles so fucking slow.
