Yes! It's true! The hot computer babes are now translated into English!
Only problem, you've got to go to highschool :(
Urrrrrrrr

It's the SNES version with some optional extra haxxoring to shove in some crap from the PC Engine version.
They also changed the name slightly because apparently dirty gaijin don't understand what "tokimeki" means.

Probably best to get this rom sharpish. I'm not sure how vicious they are now but I know that Konami pissed off the doujin community back in the 90's by sending C&Ds to artists (A practise basically unheard of in Japan ...especially in the 90's!) so they're known to be quite protective!

PS. If Chris gets out, send this game to him.

Hey that’s pretty cool I thought this game was cursed to never get translated, this is the one that’s been being worked on and off for years right?

Also I don’t think Chris would find much pleasure in a game like this seeing that none of them look like Barb.

Unfortunately, I'm having trouble getting this to run. The readme says that the patched ROM must be 4 MB in size in order to work. That seems to be a little hard to accomplish seeing as the IPS patch provided literally doubles the size of the game.

I've tried two different IPS utilities, and the same result happens. I've tried repairing the checksum, no dice. Perhaps I'm just retarded and missed something, so if anyone knows better than me, go right ahead and explain it to me.

I used Lunar IPS and a dump I got out of GoodSNES and it seems to work for me.
I also renamed the final file to be the same as the MSU-1 data (although it's supposed to work without that)

This series has had the hands of Kojima in developing some titles for the saturn and you have to juggle characters towards the end and be very exact or you'll fuck up and not get the best ending.

The game can get intense with timing, you should probably memorize responses.

Been playing the first game for the past day or so, it's pretty fun. I've gotten Yuko and Rei's endings so far.

Really want to play the second game, but my Japanese skills suck ass. Is it as good as everyone says it is?

Look everyone! Our favourite boy is playing the video game!

From what I hear, the only one to watch out for is 3. It's said to be the reason the mainline series has been dead since the early 2000's,
Would you believe that it was one of the first crowdfunded games?
(Ironically, the same crowdfunding stunt also spawned Girls Side which is still massively popular and has completely eclipsed the original series)

I read that Koji Igarashi worked on the pc engine version and that it plays like an actual game, unlike modern visual novels.

yeah, it's a stat-raising game not unlike princess maker. basically make your MC do cute things to get cute waifus.

I couldn't get into Girl's Side at all, honestly. The cast seemed really boring to me, or at least in the installment I played. It didn't feel the same compared to the first game

I do wonder why the fan-translation project aimed for the SNES version instead of the PS1/PSP version which had voice-acting and upgraded graphics
What's bothering me is changing the title of a series well known by its japanese name and which never had an official english title. That raises a red flag concerning the translator's egoism and if he did stick to the original script throughout, but that could be just my mistrust tied with the current climate speaking.

Oh cool, it's that Konami dating sim that I guess had some success in Japan and was on an episode of GameCenter CX.

You're confusing nukige/eroge which are more of a PC thing vs "visual novels" initially developed on consoles that propose more gameplay mechanics in comparison (Hayarigami & the Shin reboot, Machi, Fuuraiki, Tantei Bokumetsu, Photokano, Elan, Amagami, etc). The latter category is exclusively Japan-only most of the time however so I don't blame you for not knowing about them.

It has a lot more interactivity and systems than your average visual novel (you can even get into a rare RPG style battle that uses your character's stats) but don't go into it expecting too much.
Apparently Mitsumete Knight (Which is a sort of pseudo sequel) is more of an RPG but as with all the other Tokimemo games it's heavy in chinese squiggles and not really worth playing if you don't understand them.
It's made by Red Company so it's probably really fucking good.

There's some more info on the gameplay in this lp:
and shitty games journalist Tim Rogers has a five hour long video on it where he constantly talks about his boring life instead of the game.

I hear that the reason the SNES version was chosen is because the PS1 and Saturn text is stored in some unholy format and it's the most feature complete version they could easily translate.
As for the title, Tom kind of has a habit of doing strange title changes. He translated "Ganbare Goemon" as "Go For It! Goemon" for instance.

Wasn't that the guy who got bullied by resetera and twitterfags for simply translating an okama joke in one of those games? At least if my memories are correct.

Mitsumete Knight is more its own thing with the medieval-fantasy & world at war setting, not to mention the lack of the infamous Tokimeki bombs for your relationships with the girls. The main girls can die depending of your actions and you can choose to be an autistic dick like in video related:

Yeah, that's him. There's even a message in the ROM telling Reera and HG101 to go fuck themselves.
I wonder what these clowns would think if someone retranslated Goemon 64. He literally calls one of the bosses a homo (and he's not wrong!).

If by "dynamic designs" he meant "Working Designs" I think I get the reference. Fucked if I know otherwise.

Did they get into some sort of feud with Tom, or are they known for having shitty translations in general? Never played any games patched by them.
I don't know, I was wondering about that myself. If I had to guess I'd say that in the troon sperging about his translation people started also bitching about something Dynamic Designs did, conflating the two.
