Wow that’s petty. What did they do to make Todd that dedicated of a hater?
If he told me his only reason was Animals, I would understand him tbh.

I'm not sure if I'm hallucinating this but I think he liked Songs About Jane (or at least saw potential in it) which frustrated him when they pivoted to other shit afterwards, from the creepy and/or weird (Animals) to the most creatively bankrupt (Moves Like Jagger and, let's be real, all their music past that date).

Sell out and start making mid pop music and often involving other more talented artists in it (Kendrick on "I Don't Wanna Know", SZA in "Like Lovers Do"). I should also add that Adam Levine only knows how to write about one thing most of the time and that is being an absolute douchebag.

So I know earlier we talked about the infamous disco demolition night, and how woketard shitlibs like Todd are trying to rewrite history by framing the anti-disco sentiment as being racist and homophobic. I also mentioned how at an early Twisted Sister concert, the band hanged an effigy of Marvin Gaye Barry White which caused the club owner to use racial slurs. I found a video that touches on it:

Dee Snider now claims he meant no hostility, and that his stunt was merely an artistic way to express backlash towards disco. I heard about this incident from another video a long time ago, and I was sure the actual incident had people in the audience shouting "Kill the nigger!" I also got the effigies mixed up; I kept thinking it was Marvin Gaye.

whenever someone says this it's just a way of defending some gay retarded bullshit. disco was invented by a straight Italian and the idea blacks and gays liked it is vastly overstated. the most famous disco acts were straight and had crossover with all demographics. they then did what numetal and rock and rap and country did and oversaturated the market with low quality dogshit

moviebob brought this up to defend marvel movies and todd brings it up to defend slop like lizzo (until she got metooed). it's a stupid narrative

Every once in a while, Todd brings out something completely unexpected for OHW. Maybe that’s how he’s gotten so much mileage out of this.

I actually liked this one. You could see that he was really having a lot of fun with this one, which is becoming rarer with his videos. Learned about about an artist that I might check out, as well. When Todd does this versus blaming everything on Trump or Christians, he is much more likeable.

That being said, I thought his joke at switching to Christian radio if the R&B radio got too redundant was funnier than he probably intended. I have relatives that listen to one that makes Top 40 radio widely varied in comparison since it's the same five MercyMe and Toby Mac songs every hour.

Okay how do people not seriously know how much of an asshole Fifty is? He literally has always been one.

He is the man that had a Twitter beef with his son and stood behind saying he wouldn't care if his son got ran over by a bus, and they really expect him to be not an asshole? Lmao.
It just really goes to show that most libtards and lefties unironically expect all black people to be dancing monkeys and go with what they're told to go with lmao.

⚠️ Okay sorry, incoming autism 🧩
People legitimately forget that The Bee Gees were a pre-existing band for about 20 years before they even found success with disco? Their first releases touched on psychedelic pop, art pop, chamber / baroque pop and even fucking country.

I tried to bring up how much I love The Bee Gees to someone (they are one of my favorite and dearest bands), and how they're actually more influential than people give them credit for. And I immediately got mobbed about how they stole from black women and the gays for getting into disco, and shouldn't have an impact on music because of it.

So yeah, I firmly believe that people are starting to eat up "only gays and blacks were allowed to enjoy disco" narrative.

And idiots like Todd don't actually know what they're talking about (in general), but especially when it comes to what disco actually was. Which then gets spread to his idiot audience, who wouldn't fact check if Todd said cows can fly.

(And I still believe Bee Gees don't enough love as their contemporaries, I really do think they're written off as a joke due to Saturday Night Fever - which also isn't that bad of a movie, if not a super big product of its time - and the disco association even today. Such a shame.)

Well, American jingoism is dead, Todd. And he practically gives Nashville a way to put the song on the radio without giving the Dixie Chicks a platform to people who apply zero critical thinking towards the music industry because they just turn on a radio and listen. If they could find a way to get Jason Aldean to corrupt This Land is Your Land so they can comfortably send it out to country radio stations, they'd do it in a heartbeat.

Todd and other people unironically saying "The Chicks" turns my fucking stomach. Somehow that title is even more derogatory toward women.
Taylor's radio singles are the reason why I hated her so much once she turned pop. She vapid and annoying. She does have some better bridges but I've never understood why she's "the queen" of them, they don't sound very noteworthy to me.
I love that Todd needs to get reassurance from other people about whether or not someone is a "bad person" instead of, y'know, thinking for himself.
People still calling Sum 41 pop punk and putting them under that umbrella is annoying to me considering they are more than that. I think they're more alt rock than anything, but yet again the only songs people know are the singles off their first album, maybe a couple off their second, and then their TikTok bait song that got big last year, so I'm not surprised. Looking back at the zeitgeist, however, I feel like Avril should've gotten picked for the Canadian Hall of Fame, she was incredibly influential for female rock artists post Y2K but oh well, Nelly Furtado isn't an awful pick either. Just boring.

Reminds me of Lady Antebellum changing their name to Lady A. Same boat, and same timing: summer of 2020.

Didn’t Todd point on in his “Life Is A Highway” video that there’s a lot of high school tier politics and drama when it comes to the Canadian music industry and its Hall of Fame?

Summer of 2020? Probably because of the Saint Floyd shit.
About the Canadian music industry..yeah, it wouldn't surprise me if they're ignoring Avril for next year for some stupid reason.

Disco was as black/gay/women coded as emo music. like yeah most people were mocked for listening to it and probably called a fag, but its because the music seemed feminine and the artists that played it seemed like it too and it was mainly women and gays who'd be unapologetic about their love of it. It doesn't matter if they were the biggest womanizers, they just looked and played music that sucked dick. if there was an emo demolition night in 2007, it would probably be rewritten as homophobic and racist too, just like woodstock 1999 is now rewritten as a neo-nazi rally.
Taylor is writing about her fiancé because he's the first non-artsy guy with actual manliness she's ever dated
its actually because Travis is the first man on her IQ level. at least 3 dudes she dated had six packs and martial arts blackbelts, she lost her virginity to the star of fucking road house. I don't think he's the first "manly" dude she's dated. Travis is as close to "positive masculinity" as you can get, agrees with everything his woman says and won't get too sexual and never disagrees with the left, most of her other boyfriends have been their own men and have had some sort of spine.
it's a stupid narrative
its an effective narrative though, if it offends niggers or gays its not allowed in pop culture. look at Chik-fil-a. You'd be shocked how often the reason people were "cancelled" was by offending either of those two groups. Frank Well's successor being homophobic while working at fucking disney in the mid90s led to him being blacklisted by hollywood.

blacks, jews, and gays are the big 3 you can't offend. its why going "they said da no no word" works on normies.
It just really goes to show that most libtards and lefties unironically expect all black people to be dancing monkeys and go with what they're told to go with lmao
its unconscious bias, they don't think of blacks as people so higher level stuff like them being assholes doesn't compute in their minds. its like how people don't seem to realize mentally challenged people can be jerks. I remember in a women's studies course the teacher said women should make more sarcastic or ironic jokes because they'll be able to sus out what men actually assume they're as stupid as they're pretending to be for a joke

its the same reason people are amazed at blacks being racist or homophobic or why their issues with women is so unable to be talked about in liberal society. people don't consider blacks able to have such opinions because their brains are too small. Its not even a conscious thing, they don't notice it, but their brain does
boomers are dying out and now pop culture is pandering to millennials. going from 80s nostalgia to nostalgia for people born in the 80s. if you weren't in school when 9/11 happened, the next decade of pop culture will suck for you. most people under 30 only know of the white stripes from 7 nation army being played at every sporting event.
