Introducing Height Verification
29 MARCH 2019
Say goodbye to height fishing.
Let’s be real, when it comes to online dating — honesty is the best policy. Yes, your height matters as long as every other shallow aspect of physical attraction does. Please try not to take it to heart.
It’s come to our attention that most of you 5’10ers out there are actually 5’6. The charade must stop. This type of dishonestly doesn’t just hurt your matches — it hurts us, too. Did it ever occur to you that we’re 5’6 and actually love our medium height? Did it ever occur to you that honesty is what separates humans from sinister monsters? Of course not.
You were only thinking of yourself. Well, height-lying ends here. To require everyone under 6’ to own up to their real height, we’re bringing truthfulness back into the world of online dating.
Introducing Tinder’s Height Verification Badge (HVB), because yes -- sometimes it matters
It’s the tool we’ve had in our back-pockets for years, but we were hoping your honesty would allow us to keep it there. Our verification tool is super easy to use, and extremely hard to misuse.
Here’s how it works:
Simply input your true, accurate height with a screenshot of you standing next to any commercial building. We’ll do some state-of-the-art verifying and you’ll receive your badge directly on your profile.

Oh, and by the way? Only 14.5% of the U.S. male population is actually 6’ and beyond. So, we’re expecting to see a huge decline in the 80% of males on Tinder who are claiming that they are well over 6 feet. That’s fine by us — as long as we’re all living our truths.
Tinder’s HVB is coming soon to a phone near you.

Genius idea, honestly. This could be very helpful in weeding out people. It's not so much the height that I'm concerned with. It's the lying that bothers me. :feels:

This really isn't okay. It's like big tech keeps picking at men constantly to try and hold us back. It seems like everything they do is to enable women to become more and more vain and disadvantage nice guys who just want to have a chance.

I believe this represents a significant boon for gamers and incels. We have the smarts to subvert technological tyranny such as this but those dumb jocks and chads will just meekly submit. We can overcome this.

Penis size verification next please. It's THE most important thing. All these small dicked losers can Btfo.
I want to believe that their "state of the art" system is a bunch of 60 year old carny height and weight guessers looking at profile pictures all day... it will probably be the same with penises.

Tinder creeps me out to no end, just the very concept of it. I'm sure this comes across as autistic to some, and I'm sure that a lot of people have received great experiences and relationships as a result of tinder, but the way it's packaged, the way it reduces us to PowerPoint slides, it's like the final commodification of our sexuality & ourselves, not to mention a measuring stick of personal worth for far too many people.

Online dating is one thing but, tinder just takes it way too far for me.

That's different, it's normal to lie about your weight when you're a girl. A guy lying about his height is pathetic.

Manlets should be branded on all their social media profiles so people know they're subhuman.

Is it because it highlights that you can't get laid?

Because it isn't online dating. It's online screwing. I know a girl who dated some tinder guy but he was like number 15 of all the guys she screwed with and never saw again. I know what you're saying, it is kind of dehumanizing to be reduced to data on a profile and a few pics but that's how humans are in this day and age. We have work schedules, gym sessions, meal times and fuck "dates". Welcome to modern society.

No, it's because I'm a traditionalist in some ways. I can't get laid because I'm insufferable.

You're right, I should not have posted about personal beliefs in this thread.
Edit - on the other hand, doesn't the normalization of this sort of thing, this reduction, doesn't that bother you?
Rhetorical question, clearly it does, but at the same time it's a choice people make.
I feel like holding my personal life to different standards in spite of what real-world obligations have done to my schedule is one of the last things that I can hold out for myself.
even if the world is screwed, that doesn't mean I have to let that into my bedroom or my life.

No, dude, it's ok! I'm not telling your points of view are invalid, just (unfortunately) a bit outdated but god knows I see your point.

Now, DOUBLE POSTING, that's a capital offense. Fix that shit ASAP.

Can you tell the difference between 5'9" and 5'10"? If you're lying about be 6'1" when you're actually 5'8" then I'd agree that's pathetic, but I really don't give a shit about guys rounding up their height, especially if they're still going to be taller than most girls anyway.
