I doubt that many people are there to just watch Tim, and if he was smart he'd find a way to keep the show going even in his absence to give his attempt at making a network more legitimate. Deciding to cancel the show whenever he's personally sick instead of using it as an opportunity to grow other shows he wants to promote in his network shows it's not a network but a cult of personality and nothing else.

In any of the Cast Castle episodes when he's out he's still wearing the beanie even when shopping for groceries. Maybe he just puts it on when they are filming but I highly doubt that, he just became the beanie which is Shmorky yarn wig levels of retarded.

In any of the Cast Castle episodes when he's out he's still wearing the beanie even when shopping for groceries. Maybe he just puts it on when they are filming but I highly doubt that, he just became the beanie which is Shmorky yarn wig levels of retarded.

I honestly don't understand why this shit is even a discussion. There is a FUCKTON of studies about efficacy of masks r/t various particulates. Masks are not guaranteed to do anything, but are efficacious when used [properly and especially in conjunction with proper infectious control procedures.

Surgical masks are for droplet/spray protections. They are not for respiratory protection. When it comes to airborne, such as the flu, TB, etc. you wear a fitted N95. N95, however, only filters 300nm-500nm at a 95% efficacy rate (hence the 95 in the name). KN95 is marketing gimmick for Chinese masks that have no oversight and vary wildly in quality. Respirator for any viruses too small for an N95.

Masking works to mitigate the host from spreading pathogens. They also work to mitigate potential hosts from getting infected. Notice I used the word "mitigate." That's because they don't prevent, they lessen. And they are just one part of a series of measures used to prevent infectious spread, which includes proper donning and doffing procedures as well as thorough use of gloves and washing your fucking hands.

Masks "work" in the sense that they mitigate infectious spread when used properly in a chain of sanitary/sterile procedures. That's it. Tim's retarded shit about how it only works to prevent infecting others is wrong. I don't even know what people mean when they say "masks don't work" because it's a useless and meaningless statement without specifics. And a lot of what people are doing for COVID (wearing face shields is my favorite) is either security theater or just outright retarded.

Thanks for letting me know it was clickbait. I can't remember who said it on this thread a while back, but they mentioned that Ian seems like a really sensitive guy that takes things to heart. I agree. Ian is flakey and weird and dumb and all, but the way Tim would literally scream at Ian was always way fucked up. For a while, it got really bad and it would be 20 minutes of Tim screaming at Ian about Atlantis bullshit while the guest sat there, growing more uncomfortable by the minute. After a few weeks of this, I noticed Ian started talking a lot less and even skipped out on a bunch of episodes. All Tim had to do was go, "okay, that interesting, but let's move on/we got off-topic..." No boss that treats their employees that way should be respected in any capacity.

When he left to go do Joe Rogan, Crigler hosted TimcastIRL and it worked out fine. But Tim burned that bridge and replaced him with Ian. You hit the nail on the head about the chink in Tim's armor. His show keeps EVERYTHING afloat. He doesn't just lose a little bit of money when he can't work, he loses a TON of money when he can't work because none of his side projects are serious earners.

From what I recall, he claims to only wear a beanie out in public and on TV because it's his "brand." I believe it's because he's insecure about being bald and having a weird shaped head. Being in your mid-30's and dressing like a 16 year old isn't a brand, it's an identity crisis.

Say what you will about Sargon, the way he's built up Lotus Eaters seems to be the polar opposite of Tim's Timcast. Many of Sargon's hires have degrees and seem to be legitimately knowledgeable in their fields, there's a wider range of viewpoints, and he specifically went out of his way to make sure the flagship podcast had a cycling roster of hosts besides him so that he wouldn't forever be propping it up.

Not to mention the well monetized community interaction that is the video comments. One fan is documenting himself building power armor while another describes New Jersey tall/tales legends on an almost daily basis. What do we get from Tim? He MIGHT read your super chats or schedule a meet up that you get a first chance to buy a ticket for if you're a paid subscriber.

Completely agree. I like Ian because of how retarded he is, and there were a few times when I was watching that I felt uncomfortable because of how Tim was treating him live on air. At one point he was talking to the dude like he was a child screaming "No Ian! We talked about this, we are not letting you take us off topic on this subject again! Period!" Tim knew full well who Ian was and how retarded he could be when he brought him on, so to treat a dude like that live on camera is fucked. Especially because Ian wasn't being aggressive at the time, he was being very civil up to that point.

That's the sad thing though, it doesn't have to depend just on Tim, as we saw Adam could do it and I'm sure others could as well. Tim's just afraid to let go a little and he keeps giving people shows that can't do it for some reason. Maybe he's just worried if he hires good people they will leave and potentially take some of the audience like Adam did, but Adam leaving is Tim's own fault and really in the time people leave usually they have given you enough to offset their departure and you can keep all of their old content archived on your website. It's like any media project, people come and go all the time.

Every time I see Lotus Eaters pop up I'm always surprised it's a Sargon thing because it's diverse in hosts and actually very well done. Maybe it's just that I remember Sargon from his "This Week in Stupid" days and then being pelted with fish, but he's done really well lately. Maybe being fish bricked woke Sargon up and he grew up after that, so good for him for being able to turn that sinking ship around and making something rather good.

He's knocked his rebranding out of the park. I was skeptical of dropping his Sargon brand at first, but he's done such a damn good job differentiating it from his old persona that it looks like a sound decision.

Tim's vision seems to be heavily colored by his experiences at Vice. He wants to be the cool news, which is hard when you're short and bald.

Yup, Sargon reinvented himself and became an adult. It's rare that you see someone like that come out the other end and be a better person for it, but I'm happy for him that he could manage it.

You're right on Tim as well, he's just unable to grow up. He doesn't have to go full blown traditional news mode, but he really needs to figure out a way to bridge the gap between who he was and who he wants to be as right now he's desperately clinging to who he was and it's fine for the moment but I think more and more people are starting to get tired of it like I have and his other projects aren't panning out. Maybe he'll figure it out like Sargon has and turn it around, or he'll just have enough saved up to live his life peacefully once his youtube career ends like all youtube careers do, but right now he's doing his damnedest to set himself up for miserable failure down the line and alienating everyone around him in the process.
