I guess it’s time that I make a statement.

I want to start out by saying thank you to everyone that said a prayer or a kind word. It made more of a difference than you will ever know. I apologize for not replying to each and every one of you, but please know I read all of your messages and I truly appreciate it.

As for all of the negative messages and comments, I read some, but I really can’t take to heart something negative coming from someone that does not know me, or what truly happened. I will however say a prayer for all of you. Having so much hate in your heart for someone you don’t even know, I can’t even imagine how negative the rest of your life must be.

As for what happened, yes, I did make a mistake by placing a handgun under the front seat of my vehicle, and that mistake lead to a horrible accident. However, this is not something that is rare. A very large number of people place a gun under their seat every single day, I can only hope that what happened to me will help to open their eyes to what can happen by doing so.

To answer some of the questions asked…

My son was buckled into a booster seat. He is also 4 years old and perfectly capable of unbuckling himself. Anyone that has ever had a child this age should realize that.

No, the gun was not on the seat beside him, nor did it slide from under the seat onto the floor below him. He dropped a toy and it bounced under the seat. He then unbuckled himself to get down and get it.

The safety was not off. I was not shot with the compact 1911 that was shown in pictures. It was a Springfield Mod 2. That particular handgun does not have a thumb safety.

I have never claimed to be an expert. I am just very passionate about keeping our Second Amendment rights and I have conservative political views.

Yes, I do realize what “could have happened”, but I also live in the reality that what could have happened didn’t happen. I was shot, and I survived, and in the end I will be fine. My son is also fine.

I have chosen to take this very negative and scary experience and make something positive out of it. I have gone through a lot of training since the accident, and am nowhere near finished. I realize that many of the classes offered are seriously lacking and I plan to do my best to improve that. I will be teaching classes as soon as I am ready, and I will continue to share my story in hopes that it will help just one person make a different decision or get a little more training.

OK, so I don't know a lot about comics, but isn't Sinestro basically a war-mongering authoritarian space Fascist? You know, figuratively Hitler? So the whole "My Struggle" thing is both accurate and emphasizes the character being a, you know, bad guy?

He's kind of a Kevin Smith/Patton Oswalt hybrid, with none of their positive qualities and their personal flaws intensified tenfold.

Personally, I think his most obnoxious physical trait is his hair. It's like one day he was out grazing, spotted a thistle and said, 'me too!'

They also bitched at Howard Chaykin for having a trans character be killed by lynching by racists (in a book that says America is every "-ist" and "-phobic"), because that's transphobic or something. Every hate crime is perpetrated under the cover of willful ignorance, because there is always someone content to turn away from what is really happening or label shameful truths as “alternative facts.” What’s more, ignoring that these hate crimes exist—and that they are happening right now—watering down in any way how bad things have become, seems like a cop out, like turning a blind eye at a time when we all need to be paying attention.

At its heart, THE DIVIDED STATES OF HYSTERIA is revenge fiction set against the backdrop of a nation on the brink of collapse, with the greedy and corrupt people who brought it to that point in the crosshairs. If it was just a book meant to be provocative for the sake of being provocative, Image would not be publishing it. This series is supposed to make people angry about what’s happening in the world right now, and it’s supposed to make people want to fight back and resist the very real oppression bearing down on us all.

These are trying times we are living through, and while this comic puts a spotlight on just how bad things have become and how much worse they could possibility get, it was absolutely NOT meant to harm anyone. I honestly can't give you guys a summary, its fucking boring and nonsensical. From what i remember reading:
5 pregnant women with nukes in their wombs destroy NYC. And that leads to civil war between the races and gender identities or some shit. And they make a suicide squad rip off. Don't really care enough to read it.

I've read the first couple issues, and really, I wouldn't describe it as "pandering". It honestly seems to be trying to offend everyone. The women with the nukes in their wombs? They're radical eco-feminist muslims who are doing this to "Show that Allah doesn't fuck around." Yeah.

I honestly barely remember it. Don’t plan on reading it again. I just remember it pandering to the ‘America is filled with racists and sexists’ spergs.
