I like to read the news online but, in the year 2023, in the time of “Me Too,” why do I constantly have to see other women’s bodies objectified like a slab of meat? We barely even notice this anymore because it’s so “normal” in our society but should it be?
CNN is one of the worst, but only one of many offenders. One minute I’m reading about a rare piece of art bought in a thrift shop and then I’m looking at a woman doing what? Why is the woman at the right leaning in that suggestive manner on a solar panel?! Does this make me want to buy solar panels? It’s so crazy that we just allow our news outlets to do this without questioning it! I never see attractive men bending over a solar panel with their butts in tight pants!
Why should I see this image at below when I want to find out about Russia’s invasion of Ukraine? They could easily control what kind of ads they allow on their site but why bother? It’s not like some man reading the news has to see a crotch shot of another man!
Below is a pic I was forced to see of a female athlete trying to warm up and some Ahole gets down on the floor to take a photo of her vulva! I was trying to check the weather!
And next up it the Orlando Sentinel. I pay to subscribe to that and I do want to know about Hurricane Idalia but how is a so-called respectable newspaper allowing ad pulls like this one and no one even questions it?
This ad pull has all the women-hating sexist hits we’ve become used to. What the “Perfect Female Body” looked like throughout time! Why are we still seeing Monica Lewinsky be publicly tortured for a stupid mistake she made as a young woman? Then the perennial favorite, some female movie star got old! THIS is what she looks like at 95!!! OMG! She got old!!! Jesus! Leave her alone! She was an actress; that doesn’t mean you should take mean photos of her and shame her for not getting enough plastic surgery!
And, finally, the endless — Gymnast gained WEIGHT! — photos. Gymnasts are incredible athletes. The hours and hours they spend in the gym every day for years are almost unbelievable, but they attracts perverted, sick, men like poop attracts dung beetles! Most of these are girls, not even women! i.e. they’re children! They’ve already been sexualized by creeps for years and now they can’t grow up and gain weight without being constantly shamed for it? It’s sickening.
Do we wonder why some many young girls and women get groped, raped, shamed and develop eating disorders? How can they not when this garbage is everywhere around them
Here I am on Weather Underground and I get served another ad for solar panels and have to wonder, “What is the subtext of this ad? Does buying solar panels make young, tightly clothed woman drape themselves on you and allow you to give a thumbs up that implies you’re getting “lucky” tonight, wink, wink?
Can women even BUY solar panels or do you have to be male? Are there Pink Solar Panels for women that cost twice the price and attract a tightly clothed young man to your boudoir?
I’m trying to read about Microplastics in the Ocean in Treehugger, TREEHUGGER! but, of course, I have to look at another woman’s breasts in order to do so. This one infuriates me even more because I loved Star Trek Voyager until they added “Seven” in her tight, tight cat suit and high heeled boots! We can’t have a middle-aged, Woman Starship Captain without some gratuitous T and A! From Yeoman Rand, to Counselor Troy to Seven of Nine to Dax in her swimsuit scene with a fully clothed Worf, we HAVE to have a sex object and a man-whore in every version of the “futuristic” Star Trek!
Florida Today does nasty, sexist ad-pulls — of COURSE they do! Our idiot governor doesn’t mind that kind of sexual grooming of children! You won’t see these newspapers and magazines get banned from our libraries! Also, I pay for that and it is a crappy, right-wing piece of garbage but how else do you know which restaurants have roaches?
Even the New York Times has some of these sexist ad-pulls but it isn’t quite as nasty as some of the others. I pay for that paper too but I have to see that effete, whiny, piece of garbage, Ross Douchehat’s face on that paper and it enrages me every single time! He has opinions on why young people should marry and be faithful to one another after he left his wife for a much younger woman right? He doesn’t see the hypocrisy in this. Ack! I have to go do something else now to quell the crone rage I’m feeling!

Oh yes! I do want a 3D printer, Facebook, but not served up with a side dish of “Look! A female movie star got OLD!”
