I mean, arguing on the internet is already a pretty pointless thing to do, but making videos of yourself arguing on the internet with other people making videos to do the same thing is just on another level entirely. I'm not saying it should be stopped or anything because it's actually really funny to watch communities like this to get into gigantic screaming matches over fucking Nothing .

When I see videos, for example like that one where Sargon kept screaming at some feminist over skype, & he wouldn't calm down, & thunderf00t had to mute him or something, I'm imagining little kids watching that at home being like "holy crap, I hope I don't turn out like that" and then they keep watching more videos because this shit is hilarious.

When I scrolled down the forum I was surprised to see a name I vaguely knew. Clicked on it and found out it was just some guy who did a video about science I liked a year ago, subbed, then saw a bunch of autistic shit in my feed so I unsubbed. Glad to see he's still doing autistic stuff

I had no idea that "youtube skeptics are bad" was such a hot button issue here. I was under the impression that everyone & their grandma knew that constantly posting videos of yourself online complaining about random stuff is sad loser virgin shit.

I learn new things about people every day I guess.

This might be a relevant response if one were to say that Thunderf00t is a completely irredeemable moron who has no accomplishments whatsoever. That hasn't been the consensus of this thread though. Myself and others have explicitly acknowledged that he's a PhD scientist, has worked on some interesting international projects, has worked for some respectable universities, has interviewed people of import like Richard Dawkins, etc. He has a pretty solid resume, no doubt.

However, if anything, the fact that there are some things he's a genuine expert on and can speak of with some authority and insight makes it even more embarrassing when he spouts off about matters that are extremely petty and dumb, and/or that he doesn't know anything about. He's a person who really should know better and have better things to do.

If anyone has a legitimate argument as to why someone else is wrong, I'm not overly concerned with credentials. Thunderf00t simply clearly doesn't know much about copyright, but that didn't stop him from talking shit and referencing some case law that he didn't actually properly understand. A bunch of youtube commentators were able to point out where he was wrong, and I don't care about their backgrounds when they are exposing specifically where his misconceptions lie.

In summary: anyone is free to point out what anyone else is wrong about. Having a PhD doesn't mean plebs are no longer allowed to question you.
 
I think it's embarrassing that thunderf00t thinks anyone cool or fuckable actually cares about the particle accelerator data he downloads from the internet and tries to analyze or any other the gay retarded nerd shit he does.

Ten years ago, someone put four thunderf00ts in a room with a girl and videotaped what happened & a month later a show called the Big Bang Theory aired on cable.
 
It took a little digging for a mirror, but once upon a time Thunderf00t uploaded (and then deleted out of embarrassment) this video around the end of the VenomFangX debacle of him and some really pale chick frolicking in water and shit being really cringy and showing off their skinnyfat bodies.
