thoughts on TED Talks?

As a teen I was interested in TED's animated educational videos (not anymore, too boring).
The famous TED speeches though...

I don't think many people watch TED talks anymore. Maybe everyone's had their fill of listening to people pontificate, not to mention that ridiculous pseudointellectuals can just stream directly to an audience nowadays.

I still think this one was a pretty enlightening though.

Some of them were so bad they were good. The 'it's ok to be obese' ones are still very enjoyable.

I share the same opinion on TED talks that Sam Hyde has stated about them:
mostly in that they are very self-congratulatory

This is a famous one.

Frankly, the way she makes it all seem like a good thing is scary. I imagine a low IQ or little kid may see this and not think twice about anything she is saying is bad. Meanwhile, an adult or teen could hear this and be like "wait the fuck did she just say??"
