Troons love horror because they look like the disgusting monsters themselves, and are eldritch abominations Lovecraft could only dream of coming up of. They really seem to fetishize the female killers the most, (not a surprise), and it's a way for them to fantasize about inflicting violence and pain on "bullies."
They really are like bees, they group up to sting you since they can't act alone but they kill themselves. But in a way, that's an insult to bees since bees at least provide. A troon is more of a leech to it's community and drains what fun the community has. Even gatekeeping, which I support, feels inevitable when one moderator or someone who is involved with a project troons out, so I always wind up being on guard about that too.

It's either that or the TASing community which has had troons in it for years. Mario 64 is one of the few bedrock speedrun titles since even before the great troonout, it was guaranteed to be poisoned. What doesn't help is that the WR chase for the game has essentially ended since Suigi (not a troon, but a touch faggy in his own right) owns just about all of them, and the game has become optimized to the point where there isn't anything really new to work with. All normal people have left, even most of the old normal-ish people that speedran the game, so...
Anything retro, especially something that's Nintendo or Nintendo-adjacent, is basically guaranteed to have a Stage 4 infestation. Better to just play your modern Nintendo stuff in peace and never never look at the fandom (if you are playing that stuff), you WILL be disappointed.
It's a bit morbid, but suicide. The '41%' jokes float around here a lot but the fact that a lot of these mental cases can basically threaten suicide and get whatever they want out of society feels inane.

I play TF2 Classic sometimes. I enjoy this game because it reminds me of the pre-F2P era of TF2 where dedicated servers were the norm, unlocks weren't as crazy as today (well, aside from a few exceptions like the Dead Ringer) and the devs hadn't abandoned the notion of visual clarity just yet.
For now, this game has only a handful of servers available, which means the peak player count is maybe a hundred. Most matches take place on VaultF4 servers and these servers are quite heavily moderated. I myself had a fairly non-offensive spray removed at one point.
Unfortunately this results in an environment where troons are free to annoy everyone with their inane bullshit while saying anything against it is constructed as hate speech. And they know this, because some of them are fishing for this exact behavior by constantly mentioning their castrate status even when no one is interested in that conversation.
Mind you, this is all in a game played by maybe 100 people at peak hours. Even just a few troons are an over-representation. It's not just limited to the game, if you go to their Discord you can easily find individual people sperging out about being misgendered, mentioning "eggs", complaining about how they can't get "free healthcare" or exhibiting symptoms of Rowling Derangement Syndrome.
I can only hope that the Steam release will encourage more people to host their own servers because I like the game despite the infestation.
Went back to playing DROD. It's an oldschool difficult puzzle game series that began in 1996, the devs are in their 50s now. Some puzzles require math, some an autistic knowledge of the game's many (92 and counting) elements, their interactions, and implementation details (e.g. that northwest is always the origin point of a 3x3 frame, pathfinding inefficiencies), most a measure of both.
The forums are now infested.
Here's a specimen, note his titles in the signature. "Skywatcher" and "Gel Authority" plus an ordinal are official titles ("names" in lore), you get them for beating the hardest games in the series, the rest he made up to signify he won all mainline games.
