It depends on the amount of airtime you book (he books 1-hour segments), but $150-200 seems to be a fairly standard hourly rate.
He has something like 10 broadcasts a week on different frequencies even after he cut back.

So he can't get a license or something and do it himself?

If he wants to buy radio time he could do that on regular amfm for around that.

What kind of mental health issues is he suffering from jw?

Depression and anxiety (and not the tumblr kind, he had a pretty bad episode recently where he laid awake for over 24 hrs and only got to sleep after a visit to the shrink)

To be fair wanting to radio for any reason needs at least basic levels of autism.

Yes, but he's specifically into SW because you can send a signal around the globe whereas even AM would only reach like 100 miles or so. It's of course completely autistic because you can stream that stuff for free on Soundcloud or some other podcast service.

And that's apparently where the people who actually listen to it do, so it's pretty superfluous to have it on shortwave. I'd guess it's more of his fetish for anachronism.

I'd like this to be true, imagine going to best Korea once the fat man kicks the bucket and all the peasants are fluent in English and wear old-timey suits whilst harboring a dislike for Burger King.
