Wanted to point out that this script is dangerously similar to the Recess episode "One Stayed Clean". Usually, I'd give someone the benefit of the doubt, but MrEnter seems to really enjoy taking the ideas of others and attempting to "fix" them. I have a hard time believing he isn't aware.
To be honest, he kinda succeeded in this episode. I actually found it quite enjoyable.

I wonder what Enter thinks of the Itchy and Scratchy segments in the Simpsons. They are simply filled with cruelety and malice, but they're also funny as hell.

A similar thought happened to me earlier, as I wonder what he would think about JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. I just got finished watching the Phantom Blood and Battle Tendency parts of the anime (aka "WHEN DO WE GET TO THE STANDS ALREADY??"), with plans to start on Stardust Crusaders in a few days, and I thoroughly enjoyed it all the way through. That stuff is filled to the brim with manly violence, plenty of gore, people actually DYING (including Dio Brando having a woman turn into a monster and having her eat her own baby child's face off), DOGS dying (apparently, Araki hates dogs), and people acting like jerks. I would imagine him constantly complaining about JoJo, saying that villains like Dio and Kars are dicks (when they're supposed to be), Joseph shouldn't act mean to Caesar, no people should ever die in JoJo ever, everyone should live happily ever after alive and well, no one should bleed even a single drop of blood, etc.

That is, if Enter cared about anime at all (especially undubbed, apparently only Stardust Crusaders is getting dubbed for now because it's the most popular arc), and he probably doesn't anyway, but just my two cents.

My god does his cartoon's world make no sense. Why are these kids in charge? They're all stupid dicks. If there was some kind of explanation for how the fuck this world is supposed to work that would be nice. Because the way things are run, what with the kids being allowed to drive like maniacs and actively trying to screw over adults and each other at every opportunity, it's a wonder that people are even able to survive in this world at all, let alone live comfortable suburban lives. I know it's just supposed to be a silly gag cartoon, but this is incredibly distracting.

I have to disagree. At least Recess had a realistic premise; kids are assholes. This script though? It's just amazing how contrived something can be. The fact that he had to write in that "[Linda decides to roll with it]" really shows that he's making no attempt for world-building. In Growing Around, picture day is actually a secret event where the children (teachers) try to ruin the adults' (students') pictures BECAUSE WACKY SLAPSTICK.

For a series about how children and adults switch roles, he does fuck all with the actual premise. Even ignoring the plagiarism, it's trite.

I will agree with you there, but despite its flaws, I actually enjoyed reading the Growing Around episode just a tiny bit more than watching the Recess episode.

And a comic based off the current episode.

I wonder if Enter's team really enjoy this as it may seem.

But he has someone who can draw. And remember Johnny Bravo? That shows' seasons with the creator sucked, while the seasons without the creator were amazing. Something similar might happen to growing around.

I am actually fond of both versions of Johnny Bravo TBH.

Personally, I'm kind of with John K. that if you're working on a cartoon, you should be able to draw. If you can't draw, you should have a feel for visual gags, slapstick, and you should probably know a thing or two about animation and film. Enter limits himself severely by not watching older animation. He doesn't have any background in film either, considering he never uses the correct formatting for a script or even mentions film outside of animation. His reference pool is small and limited. I kind of doubt he's even taken a creative writing class.

He's a fanboy with no original ideas, and he thinks that because he's smart enough to critique cartoons, that he's skilled enough to make them.

I'm sorry. I have really strong opinions about cartoons.

I enjoyed watching his videos when drunk and I remember he would keep talking about being an animator or wanting to make a cartoon in some of them or whatever. However, his storyboards make no sense and what I did get of them are pretty cliche.

I'm no animation expert but I have thought about making a cartoon or comic series myself, and it's not easy. It's so easy to fall into cliches. I try to do new things and to see people who actually have a team for something so bland and uninteresting (or outright confusing) is pretty annoying. I wish I had the time to be able to do that, alas, I work full time.

I still think in his earlier videos he has some good points and I do agree that we should at least monitor what we show children but he really, really, REALLY needs to stop taking stuff so seriously. He needs to take a chill pill and follow the MST3K mantra a bit.

This - although after seeing how he acts when people trash his shit for being shit, which it is...

There, fixed. No Offenses, I hope.

I would think he would hate what with all dead dogs , animal abuse, the gore and the increasing amounts of gross out jokes after part 2. I think nearly every action anime would be too much for him to be honest.

But in theory if he did review Jojo, my god just think of all the complaints from Jojo fans he would get.

Iirc, he made a post whining about how college is unneccesairy on Tumblr.

He wouldn't be saying that if he could afford it - or lived in a nation where it is nearly free to just that. I know this for a fact. Either way, he should be willing to get himself into debt and suffer for his art if he really wants to do anything of note like a lot of us actually are, I'm certain.

I almost went to an art college and they are very very expensive. I do think going to a great college, while not 100% necessary, is pretty much mandatory for most successful animation.

Oh, man, I can already see it.
"Am I supposed to like Jotaro? He calls women bitches! He outright admits that he beats up students and teachers alike! He's a BULLY! Standing up for what's right despite all that doesn't excuse him! HE'S A BULLY AND A TROLL AND AN EVIL SOCIOPATH! BLAAAARGH! ANGRY SHOUTING!"
He would also have a field day with Part 4 and onwards if they ever get adaptations. He would hate every protagonist save for maybe Giorno and Part 8 Josuke. I can already hear him screaming at Koichi and Yukako getting together despite she being a creepy stalker who tried to kill him at first.

Also, Enter does pay attention to anime, actually. He did and Admirable Animation for Gregory Horror Show and Zacht Bell. Though he's not too big on it from what I gather.

That true you should most likely be able to draw, in fact I can't really name any cartoon creator who couldn't at lest drawn their own main characters well and refusing to look back on older cartoons and the history of animation is just ignorant, plus he really just shooting himself in the foot.

I also have very strong opinions about animation, to the point where I like enter want to work in the animation industry but understand that it takes time and effort which is why it bothers me he just refusing to learn more about the media and dose not even try to get a deeper understanding of it.

I take it Tom Preston and Chris are not included in this then?

That aside, this is probably one of the big things to do in order to make an animation (or even just a comic). And count me in as another one with strong opinions about animation (albeit, not as strong). Mr. Enter could use a bit of time to brush up on his animation and filmmaking knowledge. But knowing him, that's probably not going to happen unless someone forces him too. And I doubt that'll happen anytime soon.
