The worldwide injuction protecting Jon Venables

So most British kiwis will know about Jon Venables and Robert Thompson and the “Worldwide injection” imposed by the British Court system that prevents anyone anywhere from revealing their new identities…

This injuction has been used to successfully prosecute multiple British people who have posted photos of who they claim to be the person once known as Venables. This injuction applies worldwide… somehow…

So… My question.

Is that why there doesn’t seem to be any discussion about these two on the Kiwi Farms?

My hypothesis is because there are a ton of Brits on this site and they appear very pathologically conditioned to not recognize the ways their country is terrible. No joke, I'm not sure if it's national pride or if they're just habituated to not questioning their government.

Though I also don’t want to invite unwanted legal trouble to the Farms for daring people to speculate about the new identity of a sadistic pedophile.

Pretty sure the papers in Aus ran a couple articles when there was speculation he was planning to live in Australia, but the then 'Home Affairs' minister came out with a statement that he hadn't even applied. The Commonwealth governments, on some level, are aware of what his current identity is to the extent that they can confirm/deny if he's applied for visas.

UK wants to ship him abroad to reduce the costs of maintaining his secrecy. Strange, considering ordinary pedophiles aren't given the same treatment. Sure, he killed a child when he was a child - you could argue the initial anonymity restrictions were reasonable for when he was first let out, but now that he's a repeat-offending pedophile it's bizarre to see the courts do all sorts of moral gymnastics to justify keeping a nonce's identity secret, as well as the lack of severity in his sentencing.

His most recent sentencing was just 3 1/4 years for having thousands of CP images.

As he was being taken to a police station, the court heard that Venables admitted he had "let people down".
He said: "This is my own fault. I have let people down again."
"I have had stupid urges, inquisitive. I'm not going to be seeing this for a lot of years.
"It's not going to be a slap on the wrist for me."

'Not going to be a slap on the wrist' indeed.

Especially considering he has a history of eventually telling people who he is, anyway, or is that Robert Thomson?

I think for many who remember the James Bulger crime, there is still a lot of disgust and disbelief that two children could have done what they did to a two year old child, and it makes it even worse that they have had multiple changes of identity because they can't resist telling people who they are and what they did.

I am a bit late but I just read up on this story. I honestly do not care much about this particular fellow or his friend, but the audacity of a "worldwide injection" is irksome. I am also surprised to see kf hasnt spoken much on it. When I learned about this injunction, I found this thread after searching for similar on this site. Although I don't want Null to face more issues especially at this time, I am still surprised to see users have not gone out of their way to spit in the face of the British government.
