This nigga doesn't read. Its absolutely a word.

It means "resembling an elf's" (usually describing someone's facial features). Contrast with "elven" as in, created by elves.

The elven crown matched her elfin hair
The made up word to describe a mythological creature's features is legit but I can't guess the name of a tool brand? Seems a little biased to me.

Blue collar workers rise up!

I got mad at a retarded issue of Connections and stopped playing, but saw this thread and decided to take a look at the site. Well... what a wasteland, almost everything is paywalled.

On the other hand, Pips are great fun! Here's today's:

Rules:
  • number: sum must be equal to this
  • comparison: sum must satisfy comparison
  • equal sign: all pip numbers must be the same
And the solution:
  • Geometry: The purple "=" (5 identical pips) at upper left must have a vertical double tile in the corner.
    • It can't be a 2-2 because there's only one more 2-x and we need 3 more to fill in this area. Could be 4-4, 5-5, or 6-6.
  • The cyan "23" at right, which consists of 5, 6, 6, 6, must have 6-6 in the middle, 6-5 under it, and a x-5 horizontal tile at the top.
  • The green "=" claims two more 5-x, now the purple "=" won't have enough 5-x to be composed of 5s and therefore must be all fours with a 4-4 corner.
    • The top right tile must be a 4-1 to satisfy the red "4", 4-0 or 4-5 don't fit, therefore its counterpart is 3-5.
    • 4-0 and 4-5 belong in the purple "=".
    • The blue "=" can't be zeroes (not enough 0-x now that 5-0 is spoken for) so it must be fives, 5-5 goes there, the purple "=" is done.
  • 5-0 and 5-1 fill in the green "=" (exact placing unclear)

  • The cyan "=" couldn't be twos:
    • couldn't be 2-2 and 2-3 (no more 2-x to match the purple "4")
    • couldn't be 3-2 and 2-2 (not enough dots to match the red "7")
    • therefore the cyan "=" is threes.
  • 2-3 or 0-3 in the lower left wouldn't match the purple "4", therefore 1-3 goes there, 2-2 to the bottom right corner (no other place), and the rest like so
