The only difficulty with Hard Mode is that, when you are down to the last two tries, you cannot guess a random word to eliminate a slew of letters. Say on your fourth try you know the word is ?ITTY (a recent example), you cannot use your fifth chance on KNOWS to test for KITTY, NITTY, WITTY.

I actually think "Hard" Mode makes it easier, at least for me. You do run into those infuriating situations, from time to time, but I think it saves me from more retarded wasted guesses than it costs me on those rarities.
