Is hard mode a new option? Actually made it easier, or at least stopped me from making mistakes since I managed to narrow down possible answers to one with my second guess.

That's exactly what I meant myself. It may LOOK like I go from a yellow and a green to a full answer instantly, but it actually took a couple hours of seething and coping.

It's been there for a while and yes, while it's called "hard," it does in fact actually make it easier by stopping you from making dumb mistakes. If they wanted to make it stricter that might even help too because my third guess today was a desperate guess I knew couldn't possibly be the answer because I was going batshit about it.
