My mom is very stuck on the adieu method, but clearly oaten/shirk is superior

I prefer atone/notch and it doesn't have an oddball letter like K in it. Also an e at the end is a lot more useful to have and limits the possible two preceding letters. (ETA I meant raise/notch obviously.)

Could've been better, but at least it didn't take me very long to complete.

I’ve always started with WHEAT to clear out the e and a.
ATONE (or OATEN) gets the five most common letters out of the way immediately. RAISE followed by NOTCH (on the rare occasion the first whiffs completely) gets the top ten.

These little bastards love my mom's garden.
Something about this seemed to stimulate the minds of kiwis to the point it was trivial for us.

Or maybe it was just actually really easy despite looking fairly obscure.

I remember aphids being discussed in the gardening thread and I think Null may have mentioned them on stream once or twice when he was growing his peppers. It would be funny if that lead to kiwis having an advantage in today's Wordle.

Yes. Somehow they had infested his banana pepper fairly early on before he planted it and ruined some of the fruits before they ripened.

He later tried to put diatomaceous earth to fix the problem.

Great word today with none of the usual vowels.
