I use DRAIN and CHOSE. It covers 4 vowels and 5 other letters (though based on frequency, it’s looking like I should use “those” instead, to bring the total to a maximum 10/12 of the most commonly used letters). Also came up with the pattern myself, haven’t looked at other people’s starts because I feel like it kinda defeats the purpose.
I’ve seen “adieu” as a popular starting word and I think it’s highly misguided and overrated. Trying to zero in your guesses based on JUST the vowels is impossible because literally every word uses the same few vowels. I think I’d rather have a yellow consonant and a yellow vowel than two green vowels.
 
Huh. ETAOIN SHRDLU doesn't hold for the wordle word list.

ESAORI LTNUDY is the top 12. AROSE UNTIL gets all top 10 covered in two groups of top 5, top 6-10.

I'm one of those faggots that tries to knock out the vowels first... I guess you could say I'm an IDEAS man. I also have a range of follow-up words based on my matches on the first line, which may or may not try and tease out more vowels depending on how many I hit with my first guess.

longest time I spent on a wordle because my mental retardation prevented me from coming up with words that fit

also let me rant that whoever runs the spanish Wordle fork that comes up first on google is a faggot who doesn't know how to pick good words, the game is already too easy due to the nature of the language and this morons picks the dumbest words. He once chose an archaic word that isn't in use anymore to reference some event in the news.
