This one was absolute bullshit for me lmao. Didn't think I would even get it.

The fact that SLAVE is not only not allowed to be an answer, but not even a guess, is just bullshit. I know someone who even tried to defend it, something along the lines of 'white people can't speak to intergenerational trauma blah blah blah so let's not have people triggered during a word game'. Which puts the removing of master and slave terminology from computing to shame in terms of coddled wokeness. I don't use the term snowflake, but someone who couldn't even bear to have the option to guess SLAVE in Wordle ... that person can't exist, surely. It has to be woke white people so cautious about causing offence, right?

But now it means I wouldn't be surprised if you can't use RAPES - and if you can, that they'll quietly take it out if someone points it out. Perhaps they'll remove MAGIC in case a troon who never read another book associates it with Harry Potter, and therefore considers it transphobic, like the latest NYT ad campaign. Get rid of ANGEL for all those traumatised by Christianity, TRUMP for obvious reasons, FREED because it's too close to FREEDOM, that well-known alt-right dog whistle...

Of all the ways in which the New York Times owning Wordle could negatively affect it, somehow I never saw it as being because they would be so censorious of word choices. Lack of insight on my part, I guess, considering just how pozzed the paper is.
