I googled the strategies around this game for the first words, and I was told going ADIEU and STORY first if you don't get many results on ADIEU to be the most effective, and it didn't betray me yet, I feel like I made this too easy on me by learning this trick?

Eliminating consonants is more important than confirming vowels. You can have a stab at different vowels in each guess so there is no point guessing them all at once.
