Ciri used her inborn powers to light the campfire, not signs, and it almost killed her because she has godlike powers she didn't know how to control at the moment. Current Year Ciri I guess got it under control already so the problem designers have is how to make a game around a character who can literally solo Azathoth and win, from level 1.

I can see magic working (just ass-pull it as her supergenes let her without much training) but signs are a no-go because that requires the mutations.
The problem with Elder magic is that they're going to have to write themselves into pretzels in order to not make her overpowered to the point of why even bother with a game. I think we went over this ITT after the announcement but it bears mentioning again. Ciri as a protagonist necessitates so many contrivances that one has to assume the writing staff is both unfamiliar with and insulated from not even the source material but from the previous titles as well.

That's what originally the Witcher 1 was supposed to be, as in you play your own OC witcher instead of Geralt. From early press release there was supposed to be a quest around a necromancer who became one to resurrect his wife, who of course turned out as a ghoul eating people from the nearby area - I wonder if it was in the actual game we got as I did not play it.

Did the devs say whether Geralt appears in the story or not? Because unless they confirmed he doesn't appear 99% he is going to be Abby'd.

They resisted the urge to have a Ciri cameo in CP2077 so I imagine they'll be able to resist a Geralt cameo in W4. Most fitting would be a letter and a bottle of wine from his estate or whatever. I doubt he'll get the Joel treatment. His ending is pretty set in stone, live in a massive vineyard with Yennefer and relax.

Geralt's voice actor tweeted out that he's been brought aboard for voice work on TW4 but stressed he is not in a starring role so yeah basically confirmed.

i know im like over a month late but i have this sneaking feeling... this genuine worry... that they are gonna pull a LOU2 and kill geralt like the did joel as a plot point for ciri's revenge quest

I know CDPR has been infested with libtard brainrot and dangerhairs the past few years, but I would hope there's still enough of the original crew left to not go full retard like that and kill the main character of their main franchise that built the company. Replacing him with Ciri is one thing, she's a familiar character who is the main focus of the story anyways, but killing Geralt just to have one less white man in the game would drive away any remaining fans permanently. But like I said they're already infected, and they're Polacks who fuck everything up anyways, so it wouldn't surprise me at all.

Geralt can kill dozens of men singlehandedly without breaking a sweat. It's going to take some extremely contrived writing to write a Joel scenario for him.

Idk about Witcher, but if there's holy smite or something similar...
They gonna use that on geralt. Make my words.

Killing Geralt would be the most retarded thing they could possibly do.

People really liked Geralt and Ciri's father/daughter relationship in W3, it waa very wholesome.

Especially when contrasted with the rest of the culture which was very much of the "men reeeeeeeee" variety.

Will Geralt die in one of the endings for Ciritcher the same way Ciri did in W3?

I still don't know why they're trying to call it W4 when none of the choices from 1, 2 or 3 are carrying over anymore....

Is there even a slight chance at this point that there won't be AT LEAST an option to make Ciri gay in Witcher 4, if not straight up canon lesbian?

Even before the Netflix Season 4 I'd give it below 10% chance but the show just brought it down to zero for me. Because we know for a fact that when it comes to faggotry canon always matters. Once it's canonized in one medium it will follow to the rest.

Devs are fine with fan backlash but would rather avoid uncomfortable "queer erasure" comments from game journos.

And since Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 managed to get away with "player choice" and even get most of "anti woke" crowd to shill for it, you bet CDPR will follow the trend.
