Traveling and happened to get a good view of the launch this morning.

>Be me, up at asscrack of dawn doing work things
>Oh look a shooting star
>That's one slow shooting star and the reddest I've ever seen
>Is the tail getting longer?
>OH SWEET JESUS it fucking exploded!

Some googling when I got home informed me it was just a SpaceX launch, but my pictures have me confused. What the fuck is the blue/green thingy up and to the right?

These were earlier shots taken with one phone. I think it did a longer exposure than the other phone that gave me this later:

You can still see it as a less streaky J-shape instead of a streak, you can also see that it isn't the stage separation as that is clearly visible in this picture. What is it?

Once they are done, it belongs in a museum. Its worth enough to rip the roof off the main Air and Space Museum and give it a spot in the main hall.

On the other hand, if Texas wants to start banging how they are leading America into Space, they can start a new museum.
I really want it place somewhere with Star Hopper. That right there drives home the point the utterly insane, breakneck speed that the US aerospace industry as a whole has been advancing.

It really is wild how fast the USA is advancing relative to everyone else. Most people seem completely unaware too. Just consult the graph on launches by year.
