Not blowing up the ship allowed SpaceX to get great closeups of the heat shield, which is data they need.

Mild autism, reminded me of the ending scene of "Last Exile" when its revealed humanity is trapped on an artificial world and the ship that will take them to their true home is hiding in a never ending storm. The views of Ship on the ocean were uncannily similar. The views they showed of Ship in the water are fantastic

Just checked, the well deck of a wasp class is about 0.5 meters too small [for a perfect fit] with it being 8.5 not tall enough. Every other category, it could fit one. I confused the Americas with having a well dock. Neither Nimitz or Gerald R. Ford are designed forNot even sure if those have enough space for a Starship. Any specs on what a Gerald R. Ford can support?
Looks like a toilet bowl after a fag had too much fiber and gay sex.
Makes me wonder what happens if it does that on a tower return. Can it boost out of the way in time?
For whatever reason, the powers that be and society have decided data centers = the devil regardless of logic. Even if it were less efficient or more expensive or whatever else, your cost of maintenance is going to be minimal, your insurance $0 and the risk of some obese blue hair firebombing your AI computer becomes nil, and a government can't block your development proposal or hold your mid-construction site hostage through veiled blackmail to shut it down.Elon's idea of putting AI datacenters into space sounds so insanely retarded, but since he's serious about it now I'm wondering if he's onto something.
Every idea Elon seems to have is the exact same idea I had when I was 8 except you know, he did it. "Why don't they keep the rocket", "Why don't we have internet everywhere", "Why do we need women to make babies", yadda yaddaElon's idea of putting AI datacenters into space sounds so insanely retarded, but since he's serious about it now I'm wondering if he's onto something.
I'm excited too, but until I see both a reused booster and reused starship launching together, I'll not be praising him so highly. If the Starship concept is to work, that capability is absolutely necessary, especially for all those refueling flights we're gonna need for Artemis IV.Elon Musk has done more for space then any man since werner von Braum.
But its really more then that. Hes created an entirely new private industry, in America, that is involving numerous corporations now. And what we just witnessed today is history. Starship surviving that test flight is huge.
America is heading for the stars. The next great frontier is opening up. As the cost of entry narrows and more platforms for launch are created, space will become more accessible.
What an exciting time to be alive.
There are multiple reasons to oppose this mass roll-out of data centres that have nothing to do with the usual lefty bugbears. The fact this has been made into a partisan issue is itself part of the problem. I'm not sure about the viability of space data centres, but at least it's an effort to address the problem, rather than just denying it exists or banning everything. For whatever reason, the powers that be and society have decided data centers = the devil regardless of logic.
Propulsive Landing essentially originated in the 60s with the LEM, and has been used in jets with the VTOL format. Propulsive rockets as we know them basically originate din the 60s but weren't pioneered until SpaceX/Blue in the noughts and tens because of the dominance of the Space Shuttle and the apprehension towards reusability institutionally, essentially internationally. It was all essentially the damage of the shuttle program and how it was perceived. Also Musk has created not only the American private industry, but the world private industry. Those Chinese companies are catching up a lot faster than I expected, and it was cool seeing that Indian one last week, it's a long way off anything modern but still cool. Some of the footage of development and testing that they released was pretty cool too, nice not having ITAR ruining videos.
