Depends on the mod tbh. Deaderpool's mccc? Definitely a skilled programmer, can't tell you if he's employed as one but he knows his stuff. I can think of others that are definitely skilled programmers too. Kuttoe, Pescado (although he doesn't do much for TS4), the dude who does wicked whims, Anadius (although he doesn't actually mod).
Adding a thing to choose your umbrella or raincoat? Fairly simple, especially since the language used is python. You could learn how to do those type of mods in a couple days.

Yep. SimSecret has been gutted several times over with policies in place that have stifled discussion and kneecapped the community over time because of 'wrongthink' but I guess it just got what it deserved, right?

I'm prepared to get deviant ratings but this is a serious question.
I've seen people say about the rape mods that they use them as part of the stories they're setting up for their sims. And I don't disbelieve this - "rape as drama" may not be the most tasteful trope in the world but it is still a trope for a reason. Obviously I don't think everyone who says "It's just for the story" is being truthful but I do think that there are many people who legitimately just want the risk of being raped to add stakes to their plotlines.
So that being said. Are there any rape mods that aren't a part of overall sex mods?
Seriously, the only rape mods I've seen being referenced are a part of some other mod that makes you look at fully rendered sim dongs and has your sims randomly reenact the Kama Sutra in a public park or whatever. Is there such a thing as a mod that adds rape but not uncensored blowjobs? I guess the animation for the rape would be some kind of modified woohoo animation (i.e. it only takes place in the bed/hot tub/bushes/whatever) but I haven't really thought about the mechanics of it. I suppose what I'm specifically asking is if there's some kind of murder/violence/kidnapping mod that also involves non-explicitly-shown rape.
Because, you know, if you really only want to add rape to the sims for the story, then I don't see why you wouldn't use that kind of mod instead of a sex mod. I just don't know if it exists.

I think some of the old mod forums for TS2 are mostly dead with very rare posts. I saw one of them, and it felt like a ghost town and a blast to the past.
This is one of the last places to ask about those sort of things. But it depends what game you are playing. 2, 3, and 4 have very different mods for what you're looking for.

Your best bet might be WW + an add-on and then just going into the settings and turning all that shit off. I looked through Basemental and Sacrificial's mods but didn't see anything about rape in there. Could also maybe use Wonderful Whims which is SFW? I found a few rape modules for both WWs but I can't be assed to see if they're animation packs or not.
Worse case scenario, traits in ts4 are retarded easy to make, just make a "rape victim" one and slap it on when needed. I think there's some modding tools that make it super easy.

The closest thing to what you're describing is Carrigon's rape mod for the Sims 2, which basically made them fight naked. "Rape storylines" in TS2 mostly used one of the XXXSims mods though, which came bundled with general explicit content - that rape mod made the victim start screaming and crying, get negative memories, and other sims on the lot would try to stop the rape - afterwards the victim and witnesses would all get maximum hate towards the rapist. The Sims 3 had Kinky World which had options for things like sims breaking in at night and raping your sim or autonomous rape if the sim had the rapist trait. The Sims 4 has it as part of Wicked Whims etc. Having my sim get raped through a rape interaction, or raping another sim with a rape interaction wasn't something that ever occurred to me to try, though, and I think most people felt the same.
A lot of sims gameplay is basically playing with dolls. Your sim isn't actually a black widow who's plotting to murder Nancy Landgraab so she can marry Geoffrey for his money and trap Malcom in the basement as an art goblin, you're just puppeteering that way. Most "storylines" were people using pose packs to freeze sims in specific poses for staged photos and then doing some creative writing in the captions. As the subtitle of this thread suggests there's a deranged contingent of perverts who add things like paedophilia and bestiality into the game, and they're really the only people who'd look to publish a rape mod as fetish bait.
Some of the in-game mechanics work a bit like that though - things like spells, potions or vampire powers. That mostly involves making the target fall in love with them (although one of the Sims 2 spells made the target agree to literally anything your sim suggested, so you could cast it on your nemesis and then woohoo them). The Sims 4 actually managed to make it more explicit, because a "hates children" sim would never try for baby, unless they had the "dazed" moodlet (from losing a fight, from drinking too much coffee, from getting a spell cast on them etc) at which point they'd agree to try for baby and then be unhappy about it. They reversed it due to backlash about making date rape possible in the game. Otherwise you can just cheat the relationship temporarily and rationalise it as your sim using mind powers, if you're looking to non-consensually "children of the corn" a neighbourhood or something. If you really wanted your sim to potentially get raped for "drama" storyline purposes, just do the old school sim challenge approach of rolling dice.

Frankly, this was how I assumed it worked re: making "storylines", so that was why I was asking. I figured that "I want rape in my game for the story" = "I want there to be a chance of my sim being autonomously raped by another sim", and the player then "reacts" to the event if/when it crops up.
If it's one of those "take screenshots and assemble as a narrative on tumblr" types of storylines, then yeah, I don't see why there would need to be any mods downloaded except for the cosmetic ones/CC.

I have a story about Carringon that I found funny at the time (and still do). She went to More Awesome Than You when the witches were added to TS2 to complain about the evil witches being green. She claimed that was a hateful stereotype and "offensive to Wiccans" specifically.
MATY, being a Sims focused KF, mocked her for weeks over the hypocrisy of creating the first rape mod, something that happens in real life and does real life harm to people, then crying about fictional depictions of fictional witches being offensive to a fictional religion.
Ah, those were the days. Now everyone I still speak to from maty cries about how we shouldn't be mean to trannies.

They were constantly coming over to MATY to whine about game features, demanding Pescado modify his mods, complaining about how something doesn't work trying to get tech support from us when usually it turned out to be something they did that broke the game, and the most fun for the regulars: whining about the site culture when they were called retards for the above. Fun times. The lolcows came to us.
The anti-dei mod for TS4 the Karens were sperging about a couple months ago? In the Sims 2 era the equivalent to that mod was Pescado's OMGWTFBBQ mod that let you barbecue infants.

I'm not against sexy mods either, though I wouldn't use them myself lol. I was asking specifically about rape mods without sex mods because so many apparently defend their use of rape mods with "It's not supposed to be sexual/lewd at all, I just use it for the story". I can easily imagine a person who is into rape as drama tropes without also being into pixelated threesomes and fully nude sim showers.
Honestly, if my computer could run the Sims (it can't), I myself would probably want at some point do an edgy drama save where I have violence mods + some kind of non-explicit rape mod installed. Having my player sim have a chance of randomly getting beaten/mugged/kidnapped/raped/murdered by some NPC sounds like it would be interesting, especially with balancing it against other more mundane sims stuff like taking care of needs and advancing in a career.
But I wouldn't want to play that if it came packaged with pixelated dongs flopping around everywhere, y'know?

I'm going to say it: I don't buy (and I'll never buy it) the whole "whole sims 1 gaem was almost cancelled but it got saved by a lesbo kiss that happened during a demo that has no visual evidence but it totally happened, my uncle who worked at ea saw it, yaass kweers slayyy devs cared so much about fags!!!!" thing. If it's something so important for the franchise that it supposedly even got reported in a lot of media, then how come I never heard of it until very, very, VERY recently?
