I like the comparison with Brianna Wu. There are many reasons why Rowling gives Wu short shrift.
Most obviously, Wu is on the opposing side. He likes to portray himself as the Reasonable Troon, but his position is that he is a woman 1000%, and the only difference from a biological woman is that he suffered more. His “compromise” is throwing the troons he perceives as ugly under the bus, because he is a shallow man. Hell, he was pretending to be a biological woman until he saw the possibility of grifting.
And secondly, his “politeness” is an act. He puts on the superficial appearance of being polite, but his method of debate is simply to present his side, then refuse to listen to his opposition and act like they’re being unreasonable for not completely changing their mind.
The weird thing is, I don’t think it’s even deliberate. I think he genuinely believes he can never be wrong.
She’s somehow become less masculine. She just looks like a middle-aged lesbian. I’m fine with this. I want to watch the handmaidens who were cooing about how “he’s really hot!!” as she crumbles into an animate mummy.
