If it's any consolation for you both, I seriously doubt the pattern "third world gets ideological handmedowns from the first world" will keep holding much longer, and I'd argue it's already not holding. Internet penetration made it really easy for the population anywhere in the world to see the consequences of these things. And I think even without the knowledge of the consequences, it's much easier for countries to do their own thing.

Do consider that the consequences of doing these surgeries at an industrial scale are already really visible, and they will be seen at the same time the ideology itself, which makes it much easier not to be adopted. The opposition just has to point at the backpedalling itself to make troonery dead on arrival.

I disagree with that, because it's a fine line between just getting a little more buff and having all the other side effects of steroids have on women. Steroids aren't good for anyone in the long run, and cycling doesn't prevent the body and voice changes. Once you cross that line there is no going back. We just don't hear about it much, because by the time these men and women turn 40 and start dying off, they're usually forgotten about. It's vain to make changes solely to look marginally better in your 20s and 30s. That should never be encouraged. If you don't mind manly, frog-sounding, buff women for aesthetics or just to get your rocks off, then that's on you, but that doesn't mean it is healthy or morally correct or that people should do it. Neither testosterone nor steroids are not good for women, but strength training and eating enough protein to build muscle is. Honestly steroids are a drug just like T and the people who take it are addicts.

That's a fair point, yeah, albeit it plays into externally identifying someone as troon (you can't know what people feel, you bigot!). I think it has to do with it not being as much of a faux pass for women to wear men's clothes (unless under sharia law). So men doing it are more easily clockable, since it's much more transgressive, even if they're low effort. If we pick only people who actively make us clutch our pearls, then yeah, that'd hold.

Yeah that's exactly how it goes. My small European country is always a good 5 years behind Murrica/the Angloids, so while trans nonsense is winding down over there, we're going through the worst of it now. At least seeing that it is passing in other countries gives me hope, but oh my god is it annoying to go through it all over again, but now in daily life and not just online.

I think I wrote something ITT about pooners being especially godless because they have no predecessor. If you look back into history and myth there's nothing about women transforming into men other than Caeneus as the singular example.

The only way I could make sense of it is if there had been something that made T/steroids way too cheap on the industrial side of things, but I don't think that happened, and you'd expect to see more male steroid users too.
