I’m procrastinating on a task I don’t want to do, so I’ll share my experience. From the age of 12-18, I lived in a small brick ranch house in a normal suburban area with my parents. Just the three of us. I need to add the standard disclaimer that my parents are sober, responsible, honest people. So much weird shit happened in that house. The previous occupants were a normal family who raised their kids there; the parents died of old age in another state. So, no deaths or tragedies occurred there.

I used to hear voices in my bedroom, but only in my bedroom, only during daylight hours, and only when home alone. It was distinctly a man and a woman having a passionate conversation, but not angry or shouting. They definitely spoke English, but I could never make out a single word. It was like my brain recognized the sex of the speakers and the language, but stopped me from understanding any of it - just always audible but frustratingly just out of my grasp. I would also hear the very distinct sound of the old, heavy sliding glass door of the walled-in porch or three season room or whatever you call it. Nothing else could make that sound, and in my bedroom, it was loud. Of course the door would be shut and locked every time I checked on it. And the garage door opening and closing. In a 1200 sq ft house that’s 50 years old, you hear that thing. Again, no one would be there.

One evening we went out to dinner, and when we got home the ceramic x-shaped faucet knobs were pulverized into powder all over the sink and vanity. Another time, my mom and I were watching tv in the basement, and we heard a loud crash. A frying pan that had been sitting next to the kitchen sink to dry was on the floor across the room.

When I was an older teenager out and about, my parents would hear me come inside and say hi, only to realize that I wasn’t home yet. We got our first pc when I was a senior in high school, and it lived in the basement. One night sitting at the computer, I felt a distinct puff of air, like someone blowing out a candle behind my left ear. I freaked out and bolted upstairs.

The rest of the story I found out years later. My parents each, unbeknownst to each other had been seeing a child in a mirror or window reflection behind them for a fraction of a second, then it would dart away. My mom actually got rid of a decorative hallway mirror for this reason without telling anyone why. Again, my parents are super normal and healthy people, this is the only strange thing they’ve ever experienced or discussed. One night, years after this started, my mom decided to say something to my dad, and they had one of those “holy shit, you’ve seen it too” conversations. They compared notes, and they both said it was a blonde child in a white top and dark pants or skirt.

Nothing creepy has happened in that house since around the time I went to college. They still live there. Any paranormal/spiritual kiwis out there, what would you say?

I've heard my own voice calling out from a room in the house I definitely wasn't in. So has my wife. I think the dogs have, too. They keep running out of wherever they're hanging out to me. And they're shivering each time and have a hard time settling down. I should set up interior cameras, but I probably won't.

Anything on déjá vu dreams? You dreamt of yourself in certain place and then within a few days you find yourself in the exact spot your dream and everything that is happening, happened exactly like it did in the dream, triggering the the feeling of déjá vu.
I had one when I was a kid. I won't describe it in detail, but I had a dream about a very specific event one night and when I woke up, I was like, "Huh, that was a weird dream." Later on in the day, that exact event happened--the only difference was that in the dream, it was sunset (a very odd one, like when the sky is filled with smoke from a wildfire, but there was no smoke) but in life it was the afternoon and the sky was clear and blue. It shook me for ages, and when I told people about it, no one seemed to care.

Also when I was a kid I would occasionally hear like, completely clear, mundane sentences in unfamiliar voices. Something like a woman saying "I'm going to go surfing on Friday" and there's no women in my house that surf.
Once I heard drums beating that seemed to be coming from above the hallway in my house--it was early in the morning, everyone else was asleep and it was bugging the hell out of me (it was just a constant, monotonous beating) so I walked around the house, sticking my head out of the windows and doors trying to figure out where it was coming from, but it was loudest in the hallway.

Then, when I was a teenager, my then-boyfriend and I both saw the ghost of one of our hamsters. I kid you not, this little black thing crawled down a short bookshelf that was right next to the TV while we were watching it, and when it got to the floor it just disappeared. It was the exact size and shape of a hamster. We scoured my room and checked all of the walls for holes that a wild rodent might have gotten in through and didn't find a thing.
Another time, in the middle of the night we were laying in bed talking about Robert the Doll, when there was a break in our conversation and a few seconds later there were three distinct knocks on my bedroom window. We were not near the window, so it wasn't him trying to scare me, and there are trees and rose bushes outside my window so if someone had walked up to it, you would have heard them either in the leaves on the ground or in the bushes.

Anyone following the craziness around The Conjuring House in Rhode Island? Specifically the owner, Jacqueline Nunez and her treatment of the staff, which have mostly if not all, quit?

I might do a better post later if I can shake the cobwebs out of my head, but for now check some of the videos out there about it in the past 5 months or so.

Jason Hawes from Ghost Hunters is involved, he lives in RI and his daughter Satori worked at The Conjuring House and was one of the staff that quit.
His yt channel https://www.youtube.com/@JasonHawes/videos
Ms Nunez is accusing him of attacking her psychically now? I dunno, it's all nutty. Mostly her though. She's the nuttiest nut, and in that community that's a hell of a thing to be.

Interesting, but I distrust ghost shows / youtubers. I get my spooky from forums where anons tell their stories.

I wish I'd saved or archived it somewhere but about fifteen years ago I read posts from a username like cemetery_angel on discovery forums. She made a statuette and anointed it with oil and the spirit tied to it would get up to mischief if she ignored it. It was a thread about "a demon called Zaz" or something. It branched off from Zaz being a common name given during Ouija board sessions, and this woman related her story. It sounded exactly like a modern account of old idolatry. The statue would go missing and turn back up, and her car keys would go missing and other odd mishaps.

Real life is getting in the way of my internet nonsense plus the video archiving pages won't give me the time of day for some reason.

If anyone is looking into the Conjuring House stuff, please ARCHIVE, as I get a squirrelly vibe off these people. Jacqueline Nunez is lawsuit-happy and I'd put money on at least some of the youtubers doing a DFE to cover their asses.

Also I don't trust a lot of the info coming out. Lots of people believing word of mouth without proof being shown.

Still can't get video to archive, but here's a few text things

The Conjuring House rates and booking info

NRI Now news article from July 11, 2024 about the foolishness

Facebook post where a vehicle is shown leaving the parking area
Text with the video says
This is incredible! Watch what happens. The guy who pulled up in the truck at 2:30 am looks like Jason Hawes. We really are divinely protected and so are all of our well intentioned visitors. This is the third time I’ve posted these videos. Some hijacker of our TCH account has deleted most of my posts and I will find out who they are. How can evidence of paranormal activity be so threatening that they need to do anything to prevent people from seeing it?

To me it sounds like it was a residual-type haunting that was briefly reactivated. These phenomena can be triggered by emotional and mental changes during puberty which was exactly when you lived there. Especially if there's more than one child although often it's a specific one that seems to be the main source of whatever energy drives this phenomenon.

There's clearly no target for any of it, it's just random and bouncing all over the place until it burns out its energy.

The child apparition doesn't sound like a conscious spirit, fitting that "stone-tape" concept it's just a single action replated over and over. Same kind of thing with the conversations, garbled because it's an imprint of energy because it has deteriorated over time.

What that energy is, no clue.

Probably nothing truly spooky, but I’ve had numerous prophetic dreams about family members dying. I dreamt about my grandmothers death the night before she passed, then shortly after dreamt about a very unexpected death of a distant relative I hadn’t seen or thought of in years. This has happened a total of four times in my life and as a child I used to not want to have dreams due to it. Now that I’m an adult this rarely happens, but it does happen occasionally- less death and more mundane every day scenarios playing out very precisely. I think my brain is just really overactive in some regards. Still unnerving though, used to freak my parents out pretty bad. Wish I could dream up some winning lotto numbers or winning an all expenses paid vacation and not some gay ass conversation over lunch with a coworker.

Ms Nunez is still at it on facebook. She's taken to commenting on the videos pages, perhaps because those are harder to archive? I know I'm not in a position to do it right now in any case.

(bear in mind she has no staff to mow the grass, and she lives in the middle of nature, look the place up on Google map ffs)
Today she's posted some video of birds and cricket sounds, and said -

Hello TCH Fam! Can you hear these crickets chirping? We are very happy that so many animals and critters are taking residence with us at TCH. When we started hearing crickets, I decided to let the grass grow in our fields to allow the crickets and other little beings to establish their habitat. So, when you visit us, know that we are not being neglectful. We are being thoughtful to all of humanity, which includes everything under the sun.
Just wait. There is more to come through The Conjuring House.
See you soon at TCH!

and

3.9 thousand views in under 27 minutes, I am told. Wow! Are they real views or automated responses from bots?
I am Jacqueline Nuñez, the owner of The Conjuring House in Burrillville Rhode Island. Look at this little bird! Can you believe that it chirped continuously for almost five minutes? You can see its lungs heaving and its beak chirping. What an amazing thing to see! I filmed this at TCH on June 21, 2024. Make sure you watch the entire video. I wonder what this bird is saying and to whom?
I know that these bots and some people are calling me crazy, insane or other pejoratives. I am not any of these things. What I really am is very well informed. Just wait Elon and other nonbelievers.
Happy Thursday!

She's now changed the "Just wait Elon and other" part to read "Just wait nonbelievers."

If the "paranormal" is indeed real, then how come there are so many unclaimed prizes for proving such -- like the former JREF "One Million Dollar Paranormal Challenge"?

Because their entire and career is based on being a skeptic, so they are very unlikely to ever acknowledge (consciously or unconsciously). How do you give up your entire identity being known at "the skeptic guy who will debunk all"? Even when all explanations you can give have been exhausted, you can still fall back on just saying "I'm sure there's a logical explanation for it".

Imo there are always concepts we just don't understand yet that are called the paranormal, until its mechanism is finally understood and then its nor longer para but now normal and accepted. Later on on descentents read a science book thinking "How could people think this was paranormal, its all so simply explained"

Thread tax: Saw a UFO in the sky as a kid. Was walking to my friends house, it was nighttime and I looked up and say this neon orange hourglass figure in the sky, good distance away. It had this tendril rope things that would fling out of it and then be pulled back in. Watched it for a good bit and then went to my friends' like nothing happened. After playing sonic for a bit, I finally tell him that I saw something odd. When we went out it was gone.

Wasn't until a couple years ago a friend I told this story too told me about some UFO show he was watching and they described something very similar to my experience but it was a triangle instead of hourglass.

I noticed that the Discovery channel’s been on a loop regarding its paranormal programming and, according an ex-host on one of their shows, their entire line up of paranormal shows were canceled after the WB/Discovery buyout and new management coming in.

And that honestly sucks, I liked The Dead Files and some of the cheesier multi-part shows.

The thread you’re thinking about is probably the Zozo demon, it’s associated with Ouija boards and it’s fairly uniform on where it’s found.

As far as items going missing and other “odd” mishaps, that person should consider herself lucky considering that the Zozo demon is associated with a lot of horrifying shit like extremely graphic nightmares, physical attacks, and unexplainable deaths.

You do know that ouija boards are just a parlour trick that uses the ideomotor effect and your demonology is just ripped from The Omen and is /x/ level retardation? Are you going to start telling us about Slenderman next?

Some people shouldn’t be allowed on the internet.
